Even if you changed the fine to 10 million a day he could still pay it hypothetically for 251 years (reality varies)

These $81B tariff refunds are going to US **importers** (companies/businesses) that originally paid the duties on imported goods. The Supreme Court ruled in Feb 2026 that President Trump's IEEPA-based tariffs were unauthorized by law. Customs & Border Protection is now processing refunds (with interest in some cases) back to those importers who filed claims. Not to consumers directly, even if some costs were previously passed on via higher prices.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 US issues $81,000,000,000 in refunds after Supreme Court ruled President Trump's tariffs illegal.
