Akontombra Methodist Primary A school needs GH¢100 to buy books. The school doesn't have GH¢100, so the headmaster, at PTA, borrows GH¢100 from the parents at 25% interest. Then the headmaster uses that money to buy books AND to pay the parents back the interest. Every year, the school loses more money trying to keep the books. But everyone says, "Look at our nice books!" That's what NDC's Bank of Ghana is doing. Except it's your money, not books.

Inter won the Serie A title yesterday with three games to go. Bayern were crowned Bundesliga Champions with four games to spare. Barcelona are just one win away from lifting the La Liga trophy with four games left to play. But with three more match-days to the end of the Premier League season, no one is still certain who will win the title between Arsenal and Manchester City. These things add to the narrative of why the Premier League is hyped as the most exciting league in the world.

While it is true that the US naval blockade on Iran is illegal and can be regarded as an act of War under International Law, Iran is doing the right thing by showing maximum restraint. They are absorbing the pain of the blockade instead of retaliating. Even though Iran has enough missiles and swarm attack boats to break the blockade, the problem is that they would have to strike first. Striking first will automatically reverse their roles from being the "victim" to being an active "aggressor." Remember that World War 2 started as a result of the US and Europe imposing a Naval blockade on Japan for Invading China. As Japan could no longer import Oil and having calculated that their reserves would only last a maximum of a year before their entire military and industry effectively ground to a halt, they chose war. In doing so they attacked the US Pearl Harbor which effectively spelled the beginning of World War 2. For a preemptive strike to work for Iran, they must make sure that it is "decapitating." Which is what Japan failed to do. Iran would have to sink multiple U.S. carriers and neutralize regional airbases simultaneously. As US warships are fully kitted with Aegis Defense systems, they would have to launch a swarm attack of Missiles to overwhelm this defensive setup. If Iran strikes with one or two missiles without breaking America's ability to project power in the Persian Gulf, Iran will have triggered a "total war" without actually degrading the U.S. ability to retaliate. So, even though it is true that Washington started the whole reckless campaign in the Persian Gulf, a first strike would solve all of Washington's problems and give the US and NATO allies the diplomatic cover they crave to launch a full scale missile storm in the skies of Tehran. Iran has already calculated the possibility of a US blockade on their ports and they are bypassing it using shadow fleets. They are using ship-to-ship transfers, ghost tankers, and relying on terrestrial pipelines to ports outside the immediate blockade zone such as those in the Gulf of Oman. What Iran needs right now is time, not war. Every day they don't strike is another day they can potentially finalize a deterrent that would make a U.S. blockade irrelevant. This is a regime that has survived American Imperialism for 45 years and counting. There is no need to rush things. Right now they need to be patient and calculated. The threat of not attacking is actually bigger than the attack itself.
Scott Ritter@RealScottRitter

The fact that Iran doesn’t preemptively strike the US, Israel and its Gulf Arab allies at this juncture is beyond me. There is no ceasefire—the US blockade is an act of war which nullifies any agreement that may have been in place. Moreover, the social media posts of a commander in chief clearly signaling aggressive intent makes preemptive legal under Article 51 of the UN Charter, citing clearly established preemption precedence. The United States is not only led by war mongers and war criminals. We are led by the most ignorant military leaders in history. Who believe their self-induced testosterone laced fantasies over the harsh fact-based truths of reality. Not only will the US lose any future conflict with Iran. We will deserve to lose. Removing the Trump/Hegseth/Bessant/Rubio cabal is necessary for the survival of our Constitutional Republic.

It is very difficult for rats in a sewer pipe to know what’s going on in the outside world. Some color for the Iranian Leadership as they literally sit in the dark: 1. The United States has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. 2. There is a hard currency, i.e. U.S. dollar, shortage. 3. Food and gasoline rationing are in place. 4. The entire international community has turned against you. 5. The BLOCKADE will continue, until there is pre-February 27 Freedom of Navigation.

Two nations with nuclear weapons will tell you that a nation without a nuclear weapon and under sanctions is still the one that is bad for world peace. One of those “good” nations is the only one that has used a nuclear weapon before by the way! What this tells you and I is that narratives are incredibly powerful! If you don’t open your eyes, you are bound to believe a narrative built for you to believe!

World Bank told Nigeria to reopen fuel imports because Dangote’s fuel was 12% more expensive than imports. Dangote called it flawed. World Bank quietly deleted the whole report from their website. Meanwhile Europe is buying refined fuel from the same Dangote refinery because Middle East supply got disrupted. The same Europe that used to sell Nigeria its own crude back as petrol. You can’t make this up. An African refinery finally works at scale and the first recommendation is not invest more, not expand capacity. It’s bring back imports. When Africa consumes nobody says a word. When Africa refines and competes suddenly it’s a problem.

Out of restraint, I’ve stopped discussing Ghana. The current tone didn’t come from nowhere, it was fueled by the president. Honestly, I’d rather deal with someone(South African) who openly says they don’t like Nigerians than someone(Ghanaians) who hides behind “we are brothers” while acting differently. At least with honesty, you know where you stand.

When the Ghanaian President made that unpalatable remark about Ghana being “a small country that doesn’t want to get flooded with Nigerians,” what exactly did y’all expect?! Never mind that there are more Ghanaians living in Nigeria than Nigerians living in Ghana. Last I checked there are hundreds of thousands of de-facto Naturalized Ghanaian, togolese, Beninese, Chadians & Nigeriens that fully claim to be “Nigerians” now and no one is making their lives miserable, no one even cares or notices! Even when Cyril Ramaphosa gave a press conference yesterday to address the xenophobic attacks that have already killed 2 Nigerians, he chose to pander instead of issuing a clear reprimand. That was a tacit endorsement, not leadership. Don’t be shocked when Kenyans start their own version. Their president already made a distasteful joke about Nigerians. We’ll soon find out how much of a “joke” it really was. My advice to Nigerian migrants: Travel anywhere you want to LEGALLY it is your right as a human being but please, let it be to places that are “actually” better than Nigeria. Don’t risk your life and dignity for countries whose two major cities and infrastructure can barely compete with tier-2 Nigerian cities like Owerri, Kaduna or Uyo.

Remember when France 🇫🇷 was transporting Burkina Faso military uniforms into their embassy in Niger 🇳🇪 and were caught ? So, if you are wondering how thousands of terrorists were all dressed up like Malian soldiers in last Saturday’s attacks, there you have your answer. And the fact that in the past, all our uniforms were made by France 🇫🇷, look no further!
Sy Marcus Herve Traore tweet media
Sy Marcus Herve Traore@marcus_herve

Breaking 🚨- On National TV last night, Niger National Police announced that around 7pm local time, a van moving into the French embassy was caught having some furniture and Burkina Faso’s 🇧🇫 military uniforms. They counted 16 uniforms and 21 T-shirts all belonging to our military. The equipment was seized and taken to the headquarters of the Gendarmerie. As a reminder, since @EmmanuelMacron refused to recall his ambassador @SylvainItte , after the 48h ultimatum, the military ordered his deportation if he steps out of the embassy. This is why there’s always a permanent police checkpoint in front their embassy. Now, the question is: why is Burkina Faso’s military uniforms found in a van in Niger 🇳🇪 going into the French embassy ? Remember Mali 🇲🇱 accused France 🇫🇷 of training and arming the terrorists ? This is what led to the escalation of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The issue even went to the UN Security Council in August 2022, where Mali asked for an audition to show evidence of their claim and they never got it. Not a surprise because the imperialists protect each other’s backs. In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, @CapitaineIb226 once said on TV that there were countless occasions where some terrorists dressed in the same uniforms like them attacked some villages and killed innocent people. The villagers thought our army was killing them. This is all part of the sinister plan of the imperialists to destabilize our region. I also know France has a history of destabilizing countries: Biafra, Iraq, Syria, to name a few, and especially Libya 🇱🇾 where btw, France played a crucial role in killing Gaddafi, and today as a result, the whole Sahel region is suffering from terrorism. I hope both Niger and Burkina Faso will take a legal action against France on this incident.

President Assimi Goïta: "To those who say France did nothing or that France must stay: I was at the front with them, I ate with them, I patrolled with them, and I listened to their radio." "What I heard—if you had been there, you would have fired on them. When we were on the ground, the French would put us in front, and if there was no danger, we replied 'R.A.S.' (Nothing to Report)." "And in cases where we were fired upon, they would say, 'That’s war, isn't it!' Many Malians fell before our eyes, and we could say nothing." "All it took was for you to revolt, and the next day Bamako would recall you. That is to say, if 100 Malian soldiers died, only one Frenchman fell—or zero losses on the French side." "I remember that famous day when we were 5 kilometers from Kidal; we could already see the rebels retreating. We said to ourselves, 'Kidal is going to fall.' In less than 15 minutes, a lieutenant-colonel arrived to announce that we were forbidden from entering Kidal. Me and four of my comrades wanted to force our way in and disobey France." "As we moved forward, they said clearly: 'One more step and you will each get a bullet in the head.' That day, I cried like a baby. And when I called our superiors in Bamako, their only response was: 'You must stay behind France.'" "The next day, we saw those Frenchmen resupplying the rebels in front of us. I even locked eyes with one of them, and he smiled to mock me." "After the resupply and the donation of 8 pickup trucks, those Frenchmen told us they did it for peace between Azawad and Mali. I revolted again; it was in this context that I found myself delivered to those rebels one day." "They had given up our position so that I and my revolutionary colleagues would be arrested." "Indeed, we were arrested. And on the radio, I heard 'Bravo' and 'The other *gamas* (targets/raskals) are in the basket... mission accomplished.' That was the code with those Frenchmen. We told ourselves it was over for us. I began to think, and I realized it is a matter of pride to die for one's country. And I laughed." "Then one day, we were told we would be released. But during the time we spent with those people, the number of French generals and colonels who called per day was inestimable. Upon my return, I saw they were giving me training and promotions." "Since Mali has always been my priority—and everyone in the army knows it—I learned to protect my country. I already know the North like the back of my hand. I know who these Frenchmen are, and they know who I am." "I am a highly trained commando. I am a man who is always ready. If you see that we are not dropping bombs on these jihadists, it is because when they take a village hostage, they use women and children as human shields. To those who do not know war: how do you expect us to drop bombs on a village? Do you forget there are women and children there?" "Do you forget that these women and children are innocent? In war, one must be purely strategic and cautious." "I promise you that Mali will be free. Together with my colleagues, we will liberate Mali. We have come a long way, and we are not politicians. We are liberators; let those who wish to understand, understand. Those who do not, let them go to the front and witness the situation themselves. We have a land that is very rich and vast. We can make it perfect." #Mali #AES (Alliance of Sahel States) #Africa

🇲🇱🇷🇺 KIDAL UPDATE — AFRICAN CORPS SITUATION REPORT FROM YESTERDAY'S FIGHTING African Corps forces at Kidal repelled four massed assaults by a force of up to 1,000 militants backed by Ukrainian instructors, operating with 20+ armored vehicles, 80+ pickups, FPV drones, and mortars. Results in 24 hours: 12 pickups destroyed by artillery and mortar fire, around 50 militants killed. 32 militants killed in direct combat. An isolated outpost held its position for the entire day in full encirclement, 6km from main forces, destroying 6 armed pickups and capturing one with weapons and ammunition intact. The armored group spent much of the day partially surrounded, breaking out alongside Malian army units and destroying 4 more pickups. The audacity. France had 10 years in Mali. 10 years. Terrorists were not defeated. Mali was not secured. The people were not saved. France extracted uranium. Printed CFA francs. Collected colonial taxes. Left Mali poorer, weaker, more dependent. Now Mali is fighting terrorists. The army is fighting back. Wagner is supporting. The capital is secure. And France demands an apology? Forgiveness? For what? For kicking France out? For wanting sovereignty? For refusing to be a colony? France should apologize to Mali. For 10 years of failure. For decades of exploitation. For the CFA franc. For the colonial taxes. The audacity of Paris is breathtaking. Mali does not need France. Mali needs Africans. Mali needs the AES. Mali needs to stand on its own. France can keep its forgiveness. Mali will keep its dignity.

The ongoing attacks on #Mali by Western Imperialism through proxy forces both internal to Mali's national borders and neighboring 'states', is yet another example of the truth of the class struggle within Africa. There is a critical need for the revolutionary and anti-imperialist forces to advance political unity well beyond the micro states in which we operate individually. While there are various levels of strength of the anti imperialists within the various states, they exist everywhere. Those who are stronger and more advanced must connect with those which are not. And no corner of Africa should be left out. In #Nigeria, in Côte d'Ivoire, etc there is a clear divide between the reactionary puppet regimes and the masses. We must not neglect the pro people's forces and their potential, in those areas of Africa being used by the imperialists

🇲🇱🚨 URGENT: Mali's Defense Minister General Sadio Camara has been killed. A suicide car bomb at his residence in Kati. Coordinated attacks across the country. Bamako. Gao. Kidal. Sévaré. JNIM and Tuareg rebels working together. This is not just an attack on Mali. It is an attack on the AES. An attack on African sovereignty. The empire never accepted the loss of the Sahel. Now, it is fighting back through proxies. Mali is bleeding. Burkina Faso is watching. Niger is on alert. The Sahel is under siege. This is the moment for all Africans to stand with the AES. Not with words. With solidarity. With action. With recognition that what happens in Mali will happen elsewhere if the empire is not stopped. Mali stood against France. Mali stood against the old colonial order. Now Mali is paying the price. Africa must answer. Not with silence. With spine. Stand with Mali. Stand with the AES. The fight is not theirs alone. At the risk of having my account flagged again. (This is for information and self defence purpose only). Asymmetric warfare response against hostile vassal states is needed when threats persist and vassal states are used to actively destabilize an independent nation. 1) colonizers are vitally dependent on resources and markets within the vassal states. Their supply chains and choke points should be known and cared for. From ports, to radar installations, to colonizer financial HQs, colonizers company HQs, colonizer communication stations and relays, and more. 2) a counter information campaign must be waged to open the eyes of the vessel state on the true nature of the threat posed by the colonizers. Directly link economic hardship to lack of sovereignty and international maintenance of an inept ruling class. 3) smaller vassal states will be more inclined to switch to a sovereign alliance quicker because they are weaker and kept weaker on purpose by the colonizers. They are also usually disproportionately geographically important. 4) the mere presence of a successful sovereign neighbor state is the greatest weapon shatter colonizers. Aggressively maintain an unprecedented growth and ensure this is very visible to the population of the vassal state. One cannot continue to accept a current state if they are aware that a better state of living is one govt away. Without these means (1 & 2), the colonizers cannot project power unto the vassal state. Remember the colonizers needs the vassal state to be weak and incapable, so putting stress on the umbilical cord will de facto force the vassal state to seek more sovereignty and strength, which it cannot do with out regional allies. This will also force the colonizer to act more overtly, causing acceleration of the awakening.
