NEW - Spain's PM Sanchez says the legalization of over 500,000 migrants will be approved today, calling it "an act of justice," comparing today's migrants to "our grandparents who emigrated to U.S. and Europe, in search for a better life," and "a necessity, Spain, like other European countries is ageing. Without new people working and contributing to the system, our prosperity slows."

Every time a snivelling 'public servant' says something like 'lessons have been learned', someone in the press pack should sound an air horn. This arse-covering corporate bullshit needs calling out. Loudly.

As I say often, the role of stupidity in politics is underestimated. Polanski clearly hasn't got a clue about Hungary. He assumes that if Orban is a 'baddy' then whoever opposes him must be, in his eyes, a 'goody'. But in many ways Magyar is further to the right than Orban, certainly on immigration. And he's very pro-Israel. Magyar is as far from Polanski as imaginable. If he was running here Polanski would drone on about him being a 'fascist'. Truly, an idiot.
Zack Polanski@ZackPolanski

Orban’s defeat shows that when we stand together against the politics of hate and division, hope wins and the far right friends of Farage can be defeated.

@laligaandbeyond Commentary is poor now, you can tell they've got pre scripted lines that they're dying to use if certain situations happen and will get clicks on social media. Neville and Carragher are like little kids and seem to be in competition of who can scream Ooooo the most during a game.

Nothing against the TNT team tonight they're certainly better than "Fletch" and "Macca" but anytime you watch the Spanish teams in the Champions League on UK tv it's like it's own version of retro week. Atleti are constantly referred to as a defensive side, "backs to the wall" "love to defend deep" all things we know from watching LaLiga week in week out aren't true and haven't been for a while. We miss the quality we get on weekends where it's @sidlowe @GuillemBalague @TerryGibson88 @BumperGraham and many more. The lack of knowledge of European leagues is why when they do get an expert on like James Horncastle they go viral because they're able to explain with a depth of knowledge about their respective leagues and not speak in outdated stereotypes.
Terry Gibson@TerryGibson88

Got to be honest I’m totally fed up with the cliches around Barcelona #highline and Atletico Madrid #defensiveStability from pundits who’ve not watched a La Liga game this season, subscribers to tv channels deserve far better.

This is the man that helped create the Climate Change Act that has resulted in the UK closing its fertiliser plants. Now he's worried about a lack of fertiliser. These people should be in prison.
David Miliband@DMiliband

The window to avert a massive global hunger crisis is rapidly closing. Must-read from the @guardian on the food security timebomb that will go off if fertiliser cannot pass through the Strait of Hormuz: theguardian.com/world/2026/apr…

Diesel is nudging towards 173p a litre. Filling up a family car now costs the best part of ninety pounds. UK energy costs are four times higher than in the United States. Factories are shutting. Investment is leaving. Jobs are disappearing. And the Ministers responsible for our energy security want to ban new diesel vehicles by 2035. No credible plan. Just a deadline and an ideology. In terms of logistics, the RHA surveyed over 500 firms last year. Seven in ten HGV operators have no plans to add zero emission vehicles to their fleets. The costs are enormous and the EV charging infrastructure does not exist. These are not fringe voices. These are the people who move Britain’s food, medicine and materials every day. Ask manufacturers, farmers, construction firms too. Battery electric technology, at the scale this government is mandating, is simply not ready. No subsidy changes that. What subsidies do is funnel taxpayer money into a market that cannot function and pretend that counts as governing. Reeves, Red Ed and Labour shut down our own energy, they’ve blocked North Sea drilling, and forced reliance on expensive foreign imports. They then act surprised when bills explode. This is not climate policy, it’s national economic self-harm. Other nations back their own energy, keep costs competitive and get on with it. Britain punishes its own industries and imports from the very countries it lectures on carbon, and leaves its own rich reserves untouched. That is not leadership. It is ideology. In times like these, every UK family is paying the price.

Our MPs have just voted against new North Sea drilling at Rosebank and Jackdaw – in the middle of a gas supply crisis triggered by war with Iran. Unions are begging Miliband to approve new North Sea projects, but Labour MPs still march in line with his green dogma while household bills head back towards £1,800 a year. Turning our backs on domestic gas that could heat millions of homes isn’t “transition”, it’s economic suicide. They would rather import up to 80% of our gas by 2030 and ship in foreign LNG at wartime prices than back British jobs and British energy security. This isn’t a strategy – it’s Milliband’s lunacy. And Labour MPs just voted for it.

Everytime Garnacho received the ball, he cut inside and passed the ball backwards 5-10 yards. What is the point?? Up against a centre back playing as a right back and Chelsea were losing the whole time.
