@sportsscipod Re your ep on growth of women’s rugby. I played for Wales 1998-2000. Although amateur we did get expenses (inc fuel for travel to training). I played at Wasps with several England women who were fully pro thanks to Lottery funding. So not a completely new initiative

@bbculp @witsupcom There was one safety boat. The first turn buoy could easily have been put further out though, or they could have started further down the beach. But I think they expected worse conditions and made the call early

@witsupcom Pros should not have a shortened course for those conditions.

Want a taste of the conditions at Hervey Bay? Overcast skies, choppy water and a solid breeze... also the swim has been slightly shortened from the original 2km to ~1.6km.

A little bike crash tried to sideline Candy from @protriorg #ChallengeDaytona A nasty elbow cut, but no skin off anywhere. Dr said 10 days out of the water, but The Doc had other thoughts. 5 mins, a plastic bag, scissors & tape. Got in, swam 4k good as gold. See you in Daytona

Although flattering, I’m not sure that’s true :) I was standing on the shoulders of male & female giants, & many of the peromances since have more than overshadowed mine. That’s the beauty of sport.
