@DeputyGrocott I know French children attend écoles maternelles (kindergarten) age 3-6 and then primary school from 6. I wonder how their kindy edcuation compares to YR & Y1 in the UK?

While I’ve been in France, I’ve been finding out a bit more about their education system. They are pretty close to the UK when it comes to results. Great. However, they also get a 2 hour lunch break and Wednesday afternoons off. What are we doing over here?!

@PaulGarvey4 What else? I'd like to see Ofsted gone. Start again with the profession to find a sensible way to check and support schools. That list is far too long to inspect in 2 days. Stay with the current regime so that schools know the score until a reformed inspectorate .

Here's a question. These are the Ofsted new framework areas: Leadership & Governance Safeguarding Curriculum Developing Teaching Achievement Behaviour & Attitudes Attendance PC&WB Inclusion Early Years 6th Form But what else would you like to see Ofsted judge on inspection?
