This was almost certainly approved by Sadiq Khan (because it’s a bloody big statue in Central London). This aligns with the safe, establishment messages Banksy has communicated his entire career (albeit in edgy, clever packaging).

I like the new Banksy as an art piece, and we'll be discussing it in class later, but if it's not swiftly taken down on the proviso that it's "unsafe", someone clearly signed off on the structural engineering documentation beforehand, which means it's not anti-establishment art.
