@RodSirloin It used to be full of ideas to build apps on btc. I would read posts amazed at people's concepts for apps on a daily basis. Then they banned anyone who mentioned a block size increase, and it all became stupid posts about price projections.

@JacobKinge I thought they sold the silk road coins back in the day to Tim Draper. I think he paid a little over 600 per coin if I remember correctly.

The DOJ is now cleared to sell its Bitcoin. They hold over $6.5 billion worth, seized from the Silk Road. If dumped all at once, it would obliterate order books, trigger mass liquidations (largest in history), and spark panic selling. BTC would plunge far below $30K. With Tether not printing anything in nearly a month, MicroStrategy's purchases shrinking, and overall bullish sentiment fading, this is arguably the worst time in the last decade to buy/own Bitcoin. We are about to enter a brutal bear market, and the sale of this Bitcoin will be one of many catalysts driving BTC into a long death spiral. It’s not too late to take profits and move to the sidelines.

I’m hearing rumors that Artie’s lawyers have recommended he use the DAR protocol on BTC. J/K In all seriousness, I see Arthur as a competitor, but not a villain, and I’m sorry to see this happening to him. Bitstamp should do the right thing and give him his money. Period.

Romans 12:17-21: “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’ To the contrary, ‘if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Roger and I have had our differences over the years, but no matter how you feel about him, he doesn't deserve to be imprisoned over what amounts to difference of opinion on a gray area in the tax code that he clearly attempted to comply with in good faith. It wasn't concealed or from authorities in any way, and I think he's being targeted by enemies of freedom and the usurpers of #bitcoin for personal and political reasons. By all means, disagree with Roger. Don't imprison him or silence him. It makes YOU look weak. #FreeRoger
Bret Weinstein@BretWeinstein

Roger Ver (known as 'Bitcoin Jesus') faces extradition to the U.S. and a sentence of up to 109 years if he is convicted. His crime? He didn't commit one, but that doesn't matter in the age of American Lawfare. What Roger did do was promote a revolutionary decentralizing technology that radically empowers citizens, and disempowers central banks and governments. His advocacy enraged the regime in exactly the same way that Julian Assange's journalism did--and the regime responded with the same diabolical toolkit. Roger Ver deserves a pardon to end his legal nightmare. And we citizens of the West need him to get that pardon in order to return us to the principle of Equal Protection Under the Law. Change is in the air. Let's make sure Roger's case becomes a priority and doesn't slip through the cracks. Please sign the petition and rebroadcast this message. Information on the case is on the website. #FreeRoger

You walk into a bar, ready for a drink. You’ve got a pocket full of Bitcoin—or at least the app on your phone says so. You order a round for the whole place. Big spender. The barkeep nods, pours the whiskey, and when it’s time to pay, the nightmare begins. You open your app. It needs to connect. It pings some Lightning node, which pings another, trying to find a route like a rat in a maze. And guess what? The route’s blocked. Too much congestion. You try again. The app spins, still searching. Now people are staring, and the barkeep’s losing patience. “You gonna pay or not?” he growls. But the Lightning Network, the “solution,” can’t even get your transaction through. So now you fall back to the blockchain. Straight to BTC itself. But there’s a problem. The fees. To settle this transaction, you’ve got to pay a fee that’s more than the drinks you just ordered for the entire bar. More than the whiskey, the beer, and the tips combined. And it’s not like the payment’s instant, either. You’re waiting ten minutes, maybe more, while everyone at the bar glares at you like you’ve just committed a crime. That’s not cash. That’s humiliation. And this Lightning system they’re so proud of? It’s a house of cards. It needs pre-funded channels, meaning you’ve got to lock up your money ahead of time. Your money, frozen, sitting there doing nothing. And if the channels don’t have enough liquidity? You’re screwed. Your payment fails, and you’re back to square one. Then there’s the constant risk—nodes going offline, routing errors, lost transactions. They tell you it’s “decentralised,” but you’re still relying on middlemen—those nodes—to make the whole thing work. And when it doesn’t? Tough luck. Your drink’s warm, and you’re still fumbling with your phone. This isn’t cash. Cash doesn’t fail. Cash doesn’t tell you, “Sorry, the route is unavailable,” or charge you twenty bucks to pay for a round that costs fifteen. Cash is quick. Cash is direct. Cash doesn’t make you a spectacle while you try to settle a tab. BTC, with its Lightning nodes and its excuses, is a joke. It’s not freedom. It’s a broken promise wrapped in tech jargon. And the worst part? They still call it Bitcoin, like it hasn’t lost its soul. So yeah, I’ll say it again. I’m not wrong. BTC isn’t cash, and it sure as hell isn’t peer-to-peer. It’s a rigged game, and the only winners are the ones charging you fees for the privilege of playing. You want real Bitcoin? It’s got to work. It’s got to scale. It’s got to be as easy as handing over a twenty. Otherwise, it’s just a sad little fantasy, dressed up to look like revolution.

@kurtwuckertjr This is getting really retarded. Anyone who actually lived through this would laugh at the idea of Peter Todd being Satoshi. The John Dillon conversations and RBF are enough to understand this. (I have not watched the documentary yet)

This is Peter Todd. He thinks Satoshi Nakamoto did a bad job engineering bitcoin, so when HBO doxed him, Greg Maxwell (disgraced Wikimedia mod) didn’t write a long takedown piece just hours later. Because Peter helped destroy BTC’s usefulness as cash with his RBF work, Adam Back (Cynthia Dwork’s favorite white paper editor) put his tap dancing shoes on to be filmed like a pretty little show pony. Because Peter has a relationship with “John Dillon” and other CIA-related, intelligence community spooks, Artie Fan Belt and his army of furry fursonas and “donors” will just chuckle, look at the other way and gaslight free-thinkers for failing to comply with Socially Acceptable Current Thing™ Jack Dorsey won’t sue him. Vitalik won’t lisp through a public takedown, and Peter McCormack won’t beg to be sued before going on a campaign of victimhood… Because Peter obeys the ruling class and wants to add supply by inflation to BTC, he will be lionized. All they ever wanted was a compliant, malleable Satoshi who has the right beard and accepts money from the intelligence community to produce propaganda about keeping bitcoin small. And for his compliance, Peter gets to be Satoshi for a little bit while the bankers laugh and congratulate each other - again.
