@MPFrazer Not being that guy , but, Ben was going to be QB3 at one point until Batch and Maddox both got injured. But I agree completely with your statement regarding fear.

Drew Allar has a lot to work on to reach his ceiling, but from everyone I've talked to for months and hearing him speak, he has the right wiring to take criticism, sometimes even pointing it out on his own volition, and tireless work ethic to toil at fixing those ills.
Nick Farabaugh@FarabaughFB

Drew Allar is an extremely talented QB with tantalizing physical tools. @jmcgonigal9 from PennLive talked to me about Allar's time at Penn State, his up-and-down moments, leadership, and much more about the new Steelers signal-caller. youtu.be/wkP8G96LJYw?si…

Despite yet what might be another good draft class by general manager Andrew Berry, the Cleveland Browns' 2026 offseason has been clouded by what is holding them back the most... It all showed when they got deeper into their head coaching search. thebiglead.com/draft-wins-won…

With my breaking news here that Deshaun Watson has taken the lead over Shedeur Sanders in the #Browns QB competition and has the inside track to win it, I think they should declare him QB1 asap and let the 1st team offense start to cook. There's no time to waste:

The difference between Pitt and PSU fans is that PSU fans were frustrated and called out Drew for poor play, and will do the same if it happens for the Steelers. Pitt fans thought Pickett was Tom Brady and cried anytime you pointed out his flaws.
Dustin Bleiweis@Dueycbb

Here is the official Drew Allar low-lite compilation, can’t believe the Steelers really wasted a premium draft pick on such a sorry lousy college QB when they have other pressing needs, it’s always the what if, outside the lines things with Drew Allar, he proved nothing inside the lines besides choke big games I can tell you that much, I would have rather drafted a long snapper

@ThePoniExpress Same injury he suffered in college. He won’t miss time and it’s not worse than expected. Same exact injury against Mississippi State in 2021 (FML).

Conspiracy theory: Bo Nix injury and recovery is worse than originally feared. Now the Steelers are worried Aaron Rodgers might weigh an offer from the Broncos. Thus the tender offer yesterday to protect themselves in the event he leaves them high and dry. 🤔
Ian Rapoport@RapSheet

For #Broncos QB Bo Nix, having a follow-up cleanup procedure after a fractured ankle is not rare or unexpected and he’s still expected to be ready for the season. That said, don’t be surprised if the team takes it very easy with him this spring.

Wait @FarabaughFB I really appreciate your perspective & opinion my friend, but are you saying here that Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert all came into the league displaying the ‘attributes’ that you mentioned here (footwork, accuracy, mental processing, pocket management, etc) on their college film, or am I misunderstanding your position here? Cuz that is very much NOT the way I remember it, and if they did, I think they would have all gone #1 overall in their respective drafts because of the physical tools they brought to the table, but they didn’t, and it was for a reason. All of them eventually developed those attributes you mention at the pro level, but I remember all of those guys being described as raw, toolsy, developmental ‘boom or bust’ types of prospects coming out that were criticized for some combination of their footwork, accuracy, decision making, pocket management, etc. Lamar was another guy that was viewed that way, and the list goes on with QBs like Love, Watson and Hurts who also weren’t close to finished products coming out, either IMO. That’s not necessarily saying Allar is going to successfully make the same steps in development those guys made & become that caliber of QB in the league, but we’ve seen several QB prospects that have been labeled as ‘boom or bust’ or developmental guys come out & develop during their time in the league when the get better coaching &end up being better pro passers than they were college passers. With a year to sit and develop likely behind a hall of fame QB, an offensive minded head coach with a history of developing QB fundamentals, and eventually inheriting a playoff-caliber roster around him, is it really bad process to spend 1 of your 3 round 3 picks on a guy with the upside that Allar brings if you believe in the kid and think he can take steps forward in his development at the pro level? To me, I think it’s a pretty smart strategy to try and get a franchise QB without having to bottom out to get someone in the top 10, and it seems the have a legit plan for his development this year & know what they need to focus on with him. And if it doesn’t work and Allar stinks, it sucks to lose a round 3 pick, but it’s not like they’re mortgaging the future on him. For the upside I think it’s more than worth the risk, especially because they have the infrastructure in place to maximize their chances of Drew becoming the next developmental success story at the QB position if he has it in him.

@Jobeyfootball Crazy part is Pickett got a very fair shake, we were all very optimistic that he’d build on his first year and the hype was very high after year 2 preseason. Unfortunately he could never get out offense rolling and looked scared in the pocket

You’d think it would be a wake up call that whatever you’re doing isn’t getting it done. I think Pickett would’ve done well in Arthur Smiths offense. Maybe not Rodgers well but at least serviceable. But alas…

@Jobeyfootball Also should have seen it as an opportunity to learn from a guy who goes about it the right way in Russ and been there done that in big moments. Instead he felt entitled and asked out. Hopefully KP has learned from that.

@Jobeyfootball Expectations are nowhere near the same! Pickett being a 1st rounder vs Allar being a 3rd rounder. If Allar doesn't work out, it's no big deal. Once you get to round 3, expectations are much more tempered.

@Jobeyfootball Micro Mitts doesn’t have anywhere near the talent as Allar. I don’t even care about their school, I care about the talent and work ethic to get better. Pickett acted as he was the anointed one as time went on and the toxic yinzers blamed everyone but Pickett for his struggles.

Lied to about Wilson being in pole position? And being mad captains were recruiting him? He had the opportunity to compete and would’ve started 6 games if he didn’t run away. That’s fact! Career backup. He gets what he deserves.
Mark Hagelauer@markhagelauer

@Jobeyfootball Hat is nonsense. At least the tun away part. He was lied to about any qb competition and also had team captains recruiting other QBs I Would have wanted our too

@Jobeyfootball I will say I think allar is 5x better than pickett coming out of uni. Kenny has no biz being a first rounder. He was a 4th at best
