@GaryMarcus is reporting that LLM-generated code leads to outages. Why is this the case? Because engineering large systems requires architectural context awareness and requirements understanding, which LLM cannot achieve. Really naive to put AI-generated code in production.

Massive AI companies and doomsday crowd have one core thing on common. They lack nuance and/or understanding of the real science behind it and real-world applications. Having access to LLMs with certain cool abilities like image generation, audio generation, and access to vast swathes of information does not equate to reasoning or computational intelligence. If anyone tells you we are close to AGI, they are outright lying. It's purely theoretical at this stage, and all the compute in the world won't change that. Getting to the real crux, these people are either snake oil salesmen or inept. Neither is excusable. People who believe it'll wholesale replace people are just as foolish.
