@BrophShane The thing that makes the Munster and to a lesser extent the Leinster hurling championship is the jeopardy involved..Take that away and they are merely challenge games

This makes me think 4 teams emerging from each province is the solution. A team that gets to a provincial final and loses is as far along in terms of a quarter final as the team that comes third. 3rd v 4th in a preliminary quarter final would provide an extra hurdle to cross.

@SmallerFishGAA The minute you seperate the necessity of winning in Munster from the all ireland series you kill thr goose laying the golden egg. What makes the Munster championship so good is every game matters.

Tommy Walshe was a brilliant hurler but he is very hard to listen on commentary..drab and boring interventions.
