Being an NBA GM is hard, not everyone is cut out for it. I just think after a ten year run, you have to really get creative to explain why he's the guy. That's not good.

I don’t think so. NBA champions have top 10 defenses. Generally top 5. Not saying it was impossible, but given the roster - those players and that data feel incompatible.

@NickTuths the harden trade, would do 10 out of 10 times. without covid that kyrie, kd, and harden trio win multiple chips. Not saying Sean is perfect, but any GM would do the harden trade

@NickTuths @NetsDaily @jc5BazIn Yeah. I think holistic view is important. He’s drafted (Allen, Claxton), signed (Durant/Irving), and traded (Harden, Bridges). We’re bad now but the process is sound. Maybe you don’t like trying to win a chip from 20-22, or getting 5 firsts for bridges instead of going all in?

GMs who don't, do OTHER things to keep the team competitive, or get fired. If you like him and are glad he still has the job, cool

Essentially none of those picks were in the lottery, not impossible but much more challenging to find foundational players. I think Egor and this pick are more fair to judge his drafting

@JoeIsSorryInAdv @NetsDaily @jc5BazIn I very specifically want choosing the time frame AFTER the Allen pick. A 6-7 year window - 15 picks, and 20 if you count this last draft - without drafting a single foundational player. 15 picks and only landed one nba-level starter/rotational player.

@NickTuths @NetsDaily @jc5BazIn They had the #1 offense in the league. Had both players not been injured we win a chip. You’re mad they didn’t build around D’Angelo Russell and Caris Levert ? I loved those guys also, but the sustained success you’re pitching is a ceiling of a first round exit.

@JoeIsSorryInAdv @NetsDaily @jc5BazIn And be wrong, every time. Which is fine. You took a shot on a guy who couldn't be trusted in big games or as a professional -- and got what you paid for. In the mean time, the team was better positioned for sustained success before the trade. Also they stunk before and after.

@NickTuths @NetsDaily Winning 1 nba championship is a massive achievement. Saying he didn’t build a roster that was a lock to win multiple championships and that’s why he’s bad is moving the goal posts IMO.
