Sex is instantly visible. I went into my local @Halfords_uk this morning and there were three assistants, two men and one very tall "woman" with a deep voice who was bossing the smaller men around. I wanted to talk about electric bikes. "Oh Nadine is the expert" they said. I said quietly to one of the men: "I don't want to talk with that person". He immediately "clocked" my objection - and I think he saw my @SexMattersOrg "X" badge. So we had a straightforward exchange of information about electric bikes. Nice and quiet.....

61% of 12-15-year-olds still use social media in Australia, despite being banned. These bans don’t work and dismiss the fact that social media algorithms can be harmful at any age. What will work is regulating them to not be addictive and to not push harmful non-news content. But of course, the Government is in the pocket of big tech and won’t do anything that hurts their profits. So we’ll keep getting performative and ineffective policies like this as the Government seeks to shift blame off themselves for the devastating effect that neoliberalism and austerity has had on young people and children.

@theserfstv Assuming everything said in the video is true and not misleading, regulating what? Access to information? Google has played a massive role in helping countless shooters, murderers, rapists etc. We prosecute the crimes, we don’t criminalize/restrict access to information.
