I don’t make transactions using my Nigerian bank account as such but did recently just to oil my account… I prefer to use FinTechs But I decided to just check my zenith bank statement this morning & I was shocked to see that for every transaction, there is a stamp duty and the account maintenance fee is now so outrageous. On top only 2 transactions? How are you people surviving in Nigeria? These banks are ripping people off badly

A lady told me she found out her husband has a secret WhatsApp group with his mother and his two sisters. The group name is 'Project Silence.' She only found out because his phone buzzed while he was in the shower. The message on the screen was from his mom: 'Make sure you don't tell her we have already sold the land in the village. If she asks for money for the kids' school fees, tell her you are broke.' The lady said her blood went cold. She didn't reply. She just left the phone there. When the husband came out, she acted normal. She served him dinner. He ate and went to sleep. At 1 AM, while he was snoring, she took his phone, used his thumb to unlock it, and opened that group chat. She scrolled through the phone and found out that for three years, they have been planning how to make sure she doesn't know about his promotions, his new properties, and even how they convinced him not to buy her a car. She said she sat on the edge of the bed looking at him sleep. I asked her, 'What did you do?' She looked at me and said, 'Mimi, I didn't wake him up. I just took his ATM card, went to the living room, and transferred all the money in his "Secret Business Account" to my mother's account. Now I am sitting here waiting for him to wake up by 6 AM to see the alert.' Omo, The suspense in that house right now is heavier than concrete.😳 If you were the wife, would you wait for him to wake up or would you have packed your bags and disappeared in the night? Let’s settle this! 🤐🔥"

I’m saying a lack of sex was a dealbreaker for me. That implies I expressed desire and was rejected. Which I did and do. I showed your comment to the man I am currently in a relationship with and he rejected it as being an accurate description of me. Men have a natural sense of honor. If they feel they cannot provide a woman with what they think she deserves, they will withhold sex, and if they are genuinely honorable, end the relationship. Some men don’t have honor. They will think that refusing sex somehow excuses their using women in other ways. I have found @alison_teaches to be a good resource here. I understand you have built your platform on criticizing women who deny men sex and respect, and criticizing men for similarly bad behavior. I agree with 95% of what you post. There are women who desire their partner, but their partner rejects them for reasons they think are somehow honorable.

If a man, whose testosterone is 17x higher than women, is refusing sex, here's the harsh truth: It takes a lot for a man to turn down sex. Usually, it’s for one of three reasons: • He’s physically unable to perform. •You’re giving him so much sex multiple times a day that he needs a break. •You’re boring, out of shape, or have a bad attitude and complain too much, so he’s decided to go elsewhere. That’s the brutal reality. Your first sentence revealed the latter.
Lea Hill@ScuppernongMN

@GiaMMacool Men refusing sex but wanting to possess me is now a dealbreaker for me. It’s made me resistant to attempt a committed relationship. I’m not “both sides-ing” this, but women experience this, too. I have ended relationships over a man deciding he no longer wants sex.

PRESS STATEMENT: ODUDUWA HALL NOT AVAILABLE FOR PETER OBI’s LECTURE — OAU The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, wish to clarify the circumstances surrounding the proposed lecture by His Excellency, Peter Obi, at the University. The general public is hereby informed that a particular group within the Students’ body extended an invitation to the former Presidential Candidate and two-term Governor of Anambra State to deliver a lecture within the University premises. The University authorities were not duly informed of the status and calibre of the invited guest until Friday, just a day before the scheduled programme. It is important to note that events involving high-profile personalities of such standing require adequate prior notification to the University authorities because it will enable the institution to make necessary logistical and security arrangements, including proper liaison with relevant security agencies such as the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), in order to ensure the safety of the guest, members of the University community and the general public. Consequently, given the short notice and the attendant inability to complete these critical arrangements, the University authorities could not approve the use of Oduduwa Hall for the event as requested by the organisers. The decision was taken purely in the interest of safety, orderliness and adherence to established protocols governing the use of University facilities, adding that it is not, in any way, a reflection of disregard for the person or status of His Excellency, Peter Obi, whom the University holds in high esteem. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire is, and remains committed to supporting intellectual engagements and hosting distinguished personalities, provided that due process is followed and adequate notice is given. Members of the University community, students and the general public are therefore enjoined to always comply with laid-down procedures in planning events within the University because we all are partners in progress for the overall development of the University.

“Is it too much?” 💔 – Lady breaks down as fiancé walks away over bride price list A Nigerian woman has cried out online after her fiancé reportedly ended their six-year relationship over her family’s bride price demands. According to her, everything was going smoothly until her family presented the list for their traditional marriage. “My boyfriend broke up with me after seeing my bride price list. We’ve been together for six years. Since yesterday, he stopped picking my calls. It’s not my fault my family wrote this,” she said. The list, which has now gone viral, shocked many people because of the heavy demands attached. Items reportedly included: • Five fat cows 🐄 • 50 grilled chickens • 30 virgin goats • 500 tubers of yam • 10 bags of foreign rice • 50 litres of fuel • Solar panels • ₦10 million for the family • ₦5 million for the community • iPhone 17 Air for the bride’s mother • iPhone 17 Pro Max for the father • And even thousands of bags of cement 😳 She explained that she had no control over the list, as it was her family’s decision. “He asked me to send it to him because he was in Abuja. After he saw it, he said he couldn’t do it and ended everything,” she added. Now heartbroken, she is pleading with the public to help her beg him, insisting the situation is beyond her control. The story has sparked massive reactions online: “This no be bride price again, na business.” “Love no fit survive this kind list.” “Some families are pricing their daughters out of marriage.” This situation has once again raised serious questions about rising bride price demands and how they are affecting relationships in today’s society. What do you think, tradition or exploitation?

The Nigerian Public Service used to have a pension scheme called the Defined Benefits Scheme. This meant that the Government paid you a pension and you didn’t have to contribute anything during your working life. While every public servant was ENTITLED to a pension, not every public servant actually got a pension. You may remember the time when pensioners used to come to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and sleep outside on ‘Ghana-must-go’ bags for days on end. Many died without ever receiving a pension. The main reason for this was that the government simply did not have the money to fulfil its pension obligations, or did not prioritise them above other things it was wasting money on, like creating new agencies every day for purposes of ‘Jobs for the boys.’ So, in 2004, the government introduced the Contributory Pensions Scheme. Under this scheme, the public servant will contribute 8% of their earnings towards their pension and the government will contribute 10%. The government also licensed Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) to run the scheme with the Pension Commission (PENCOM) serving as the regulator. Those who retired before the 2004 Act and those with less than three years before retirement were left on the old non-contributory scheme. What the 2004 Contributory Pensions Act meant was that everyone was entitled to a pension and everyone actually got a pension. It should work seamlessly. If a public servant retires this month, they should start getting paid their pension next month. However, the scheme still needs improvement as it could take up to a year after the public servant retires before they actually start receiving their pension. To my mind, PENCOM is not doing enough to ensure that some PFAs don’t misbehave. Anyway, the Armed Forces were then exempted from the scheme in 2014. Intelligence Agencies, like DSS and NIA, were also exempted. Then, the Judicial officers. Then, the Federal Permanent Secretaries. Now, the police are agitating that they too should be exempted. ASUU has agitated for many years that its members too should be exempted. Having granted exemptions to some other public servants, what would be the logical reason for not granting the same to the Police? Which organisation would be next? It would be helpful to do a thorough review of the Act to ensure that the inherent logic with which some parts of the public service are exempted and others are not is sound. If we don’t, it is only a matter of time before pensioners start travelling to Abuja to sleep on Ghana-must-go bags again. I am Ezemmuo. I know things.

Loool in Cameroon it's teachers. Immediately you become a government employed teacher, you hire someone to teach in your place and you use your first huge teacher money to japa. Since your salary is still coming, you pay half to the teacher your hired and use the rest while living abroad 😉

JAPA story. As of 2024, the entire staffs of the International operations of a Tier-1 Nigerian bank have relocated abroad. 7 of them are my friend. Majority of them relocated to Canada 🇨🇦 as permanent residents. Nigerians with 10+ years banking experience. A win for Canada 🇨🇦.
