@robwormald@dave_stewart@phishy Indeed. There's something so satisfying about doing something in physical reality after you're caught up in virtual land for 8+ hours a day, day after day..
Yesterday I got fired from Apple. I'll miss my amazing teammates but the relief I feel today? Huge. I'm going to open source something today simply because I can again.
Thinking maybe I'll take the summer off and do some wildland firefighting.
@WellPaidGeek It's going on 8 years for me and I've always felt that... 12+ more years of this feeling to look fwd to, eh? There are days I'm absolutely amazed that I get paid to write code... like, with actual money!
@CaseyRomkes@_ewus@elborro@ChloeCondon I've always evaluated other developers by their tech and communication skills (and personal drive), never by gender. I'm always baffled why so many males out there are so scared of women that they have to trash them.
@zachleat What I find amusing is that even though some people look down on webdev, a lot of us who are in the webdev field both enjoy our work immensely and make a good living from it.
@aprilmillerlite From my experience I would say whatever method of learning you feel is necessary for you is most likely the right one. Some of us need the academia setting to learn, some don't. By "need" I mean whichever setting you feel suits you best, and only you know that.
Why does everyone hate on getting a CS degree? It makes me feel like it invalidates the hard work and effort I’ve put forth pursuing a degree. Academia is really important to me, and it seems like a lot of people are saying it’s worthless.
My bank gave me this. Is there some sort of app I can use instead to get these numbers? I’m assuming no and they don’t support regular 2FA. Really don’t want to have to carry this thing around
@clauderic_d@dndkit Ooo this looks good! I'm about to redo an older project that utilizes dnd and I think this would be a good candidate to start over with!
New year, new... drag and drop library 🎉
After nearly a year of work, I'm thrilled to finally be able to share the open source project I've been working on.
Meet @dndkit, a modern and extensible drag and drop toolkit for React dndkit.com
@ladyleet Agreed. I tried to make my wife a piece of jewelry for her birthday one year... I ended up doing something else instead because my piece looked like I plucked it out of a trash can
@MeghanChayka Cat: "Now that humans are home they call me out for jumping on counters. I hope they go back to normal daytime lives soon so I can chew on plastic bags and barf them up all over again."
Still in the EARLY development stages of a new graphic novel but I felt like sharing one of the concept pieces I’m working on. So much of my process is trying to shape a world and a story by making random art and writing short plot points. -> Cont. next tweet.
