(since my og post got deleted somehow, reposting) I've joined @OpenAI to help turn ChatGPT into an OS! 🚀 We're building a platform to enable developers to combine apps + intelligence + user context in a way that's never been possible before. ...and we're doing it at unprecedented scale: the iPhone app store had 6M users at launch. The ChatGPT app store had 850M users at launch. 🤯 I'm building a small, high-agency team to work on this. If developer experience and building platforms at massive scale excites you, I'd love to chat; my DMs are open 👋 (3 days/week in SF)

@aidan_mclau @tszzl i think it's the opposite percentage? i think that's true for you, but you are clearly somewhere in the top 5% of the population in processing power. i have friends in the 95% who are studying/practicing well and just… can't get beyond their elo. literally can't.

@tszzl i contest that 95% of the population has ever hit a true skill ceiling in their lifetime; more likely at a certain level your opponents just study/practice better than you, which gives the illusion of an unreachable elo

it was an interesting and spiritually informative experience being young and playing dota or starcraft or what have you and realize you actually hit your elo ceiling and haven’t been improving much

It's never been easier to do everyday work with Codex. Choose your role, connect the apps you use every day, and try suggested prompts. Codex helps with everything from research and planning to docs, slides, spreadsheets, and more.

On Notion's knowledge work benchmark, GPT 5.5 is 33% faster, uses half the tokens (so half the price), and scores slightly higher than Opus 4.7. @OpenAI has declared themselves the winners, this week, in the frontier knowledge work arena.
eli(as)@earlierism

We’ve often been asked about how we eval each new model at Notion, since we’re one of the few apps deploying both frontier lab models and leading open source models for general knowledge work. Read on for what we share with the model providers after we evaluate their models.

Remember when it was novel for an LLM to think for a few seconds?
Noam Brown@polynoamial

@OpenAI @rao2z @OpenAI's o1 thinks for seconds, but we aim for future versions to think for hours, days, even weeks. Inference costs will be higher, but what cost would you pay for a new cancer drug? For breakthrough batteries? For a proof of the Riemann Hypothesis? AI can be more than chatbots

Stop tweeting for a hot minute and update your Codex App to find full browser use, global dictation, non-dev mode, a new auto-review mode that is much safer than yolo, in-app docs and PDF viewer, and ... GPT-5.5.
OpenAI Developers@OpenAIDevs

With GPT-5.5, Codex now gets more of the job done across the browser, files, docs, and your computer. We've expanded browser use so Codex can interact with web apps, and test flows, click through pages, capture screenshots, and iterate on what it sees until it completes the task.

Exciting news - GPT-Image-2 by @OpenAI has claimed the #1 spot across all Image Arena leaderboards! A clean sweep with a record-breaking +242 point lead in Text-to-Image - the largest gap we’ve seen to date. - #1 Text-to-Image (1512), +242 over #2 (Nano-banana-2 with web-search aka gemini-3.1-flash-image) - #1 Single-Image Edit (1513), +125 over #2 (Nano-banana-pro aka gemini-3-pro-image) - #1 Multi-Image Edit (1464), +90 over #2 (Nano-banana-2) No model has dominated Image Arena with margins this wide. Huge congratulations to @OpenAI on this major breakthrough in image generation! More performance breakdowns by category in the thread below.

So excited to share that we're bringing Computer Use to Codex. Computer Use lets Codex see, click, and type into your Mac apps, with its own cursor. It's a magical feeling to have agents using your apps in the background, and still get to use your computer at the same time.

@brian_lovin This also works great at large scale! I frequently dump a request ID into Codex with our logs MCP and 5.4 xhigh very reliably finds the issue.

Advice to fellow side project tinkerers: don't forget to set up aggressive logging! (OTel traces + manual event capture + Vercel log drain into Axiom works great for me) I can fix most bug reports by pasting the user's email into an LLM connected to the Axiom MCP. Between events and traces, the model can replay nearly any timeline of activity and figure things out with a high level of detail. Don't forget to scrub PII. Over-log at first and trim back as you build confidence in different areas of the code. MCPs are still fine, ignore the haters. This works fine at a small scale, ofc.
