Google handed over hundreds of hours of raw footage, emails, search history, and location metadata. This behavior is dangerous because it weaponizes legal discovery to spy on a journalist and silence free speech. Instead of addressing the big theft, Ammon used a coordinated trap to strip his privacy. It shows the terrifying lengths BAM leadership will go to intimidate and silence anyone exposing their bad practices.

I blame the customers writing off physical out of convenience, enough of them justified to themselves to the point that we all have to suffer the consequences. No matter. Me not buying a PS6 won't hurt Sony. And I'm content playing games that already exist. There's more games than I could play in 20 lifetimes as it is. I'm good.

As much as I’d love for Sony to reverse this, the benefits of dropping physical discs are just way too big for them to ever walk it back in my opinion. Even if a million, two million, or even five million people rage-quit the platform, it won't matter—they're securing every advantage possible. Even if companies protest that it'll hurt or absolutely devastate their business, they won't give a damn. Business is business. ☑️ Higher margins: Sony pockets ~$70 on a $70 1st-party digital game vs ~$45.50 physical (after retailer cuts + manufacturing). 3rd-party wins big too. ☑️ Their digital base is already huge (~80% of sales), so they figure they can shrug off the physical crowd. No more disc production/shipping or giving retailers ~30%. Kills the used game market dead. ☑️ Full control via PS Store + customer data. Future-proofs for PS6 (digital-first). ☑️ Sony also believes most players will eventually accept an all-digital model thanks to the strength of the PlayStation brand and community loyalty, and they just expect us to adapt over time without needing big explanations.
