Forza Horizon 5 included a feature where non-player characters addressed players using names pulled from their Microsoft Xbox accounts. This created a deadnaming problem for some transgender players whose account names did not reflect their current identity. The developers had introduced pronoun options and different body types in 2021 to promote inclusivity. However, the name-pulling mechanic during the game’s introduction led to unintended issues. In response, Forza Horizon 6 adds a prompt in the character creator asking players to confirm if they are comfortable with their Xbox account name being used by NPCs.

Jacksonville Officers Fatally Shoot Armed Burglary Suspect After Multiple Home Invasions Jacksonville, Florida — On May 4, 2026, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers responded late at night to reports of multiple armed burglaries at townhomes on Rigel Road involving 33-year-old Brandon Laron Kaphers. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Kaphers allegedly kicked in the front door of one residence while armed, prompting the homeowner to call 911. Minutes later, authorities said he forced entry into a second townhome, went upstairs, and pointed a handgun at a woman inside a bedroom. The resident then called 911.
