Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Moldava -- there are way too many attacks on Western governments to be a coincidence. We're in the early stages of the same thing happening here. Remember what Trump said about never having to vote again.

Călin Georgescu, the pro-Russian candidate currently standing the best chances of becoming the next president of Romania, promised he will ban all political parties if he wins. "I promise you, there will be no more political parties in this country. None. Not a single party".

News — Nearly 2-hour meeting with Acting AG Todd Blanche and Senate Republicans was incredibly hostile, per multiple attendees. As many as 25 GOP senators spoke (this is very rare for these meetings), all in opposition to weaponization fund. R’s pitched specific ideas such as dictating how the 5 commissioners are chosen & not allowing people convicted of violence against cops to be eligible for a payout.

It’s hard to overstate how implausible this plan was. The idea that an air campaign could somehow pave the way for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a figure deeply despised by Khamenei and long marginalized by the regime, to return to power in Iran was detached from political reality from the start. Ahmadinejad never had meaningful backing from the Revolutionary Guards, and there was never a credible path for him to seize control of the state. As more details emerge about the Iran campaign, the clearer it becomes how recklessly underprepared it was and how profoundly its architects misunderstood Iran’s political and military system. This was not merely a failed operation; it was a fiasco rooted in a strategy that bore little resemblance to the realities on the ground. The Ahmadinejad episode is simply another nail in the coffin of the fantasy that outside military pressure could engineer regime change in Iran. I don’t know what other details about these plans are still waiting to emerge, but the pattern is already unmistakable: the Kurds, Ahmadinejad, faith in air power, fantasies of eliminating Ali Khamenei — every element pointed toward the same inevitable conclusion. The failure was visible from the start. The people who designed this operation may have had power, resources, and confidence, but they lacked the one thing that mattered most: any real understanding of Iran. The Iran War "strategy" looks even crazier: The @nytimes reports that the US plan was to put Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in as leader -- yes, the same Ahmadinejad who was both extremist and a bit crazy. I interviewed Ahmadinejad when he was Iran's president and can't imagine the why the US would possibly support him. And then in any case, the air strike that was supposed to free him from house arrest ended up injuring him.... nytimes.com/2026/05/19/us/…

$MBRX showing a little life today (volume only slightly higher though so am not sure if it's safe to infer anything from it.) Binary event sometime next month for Annamycin and the company will need to do a raise right after that to keep the doors open.

Per Slok, 87% of VC funding is directed at AI, 49% of investment grade bond issuance is AI, and 38% of high yield bond issuance is linked to AI. During the internet boom, in 1999, less than 40% of VC funding was linked to internet companies. Broadening to the wider tech-media-telecom (TMT) bubble, in 1999, VC funding for TMT hit 80% of all funding. TMT bonds were 40-50% of the high yield bond issuance in 2000 and 25-30% of total investment grade bond issuance. Over $100B investment grade debt issued in 1999-2000 became junk by 2002. High yield debt at 38% today vs 40%-50% back then belies the idea that today’s AI debt issuance is cleaner, backed by more profitable companies today.

Study of AI videos finds 70% of high-paying roles are depicted as men & 60% of low-paying roles as women. As AI becomes more embedded in everyday tools, its influence on perception will only grow unless actively corrected. visualcapitalist.com/cp/male-doctor…

In Kyiv for @thetimes, I spoke to a Russian drone operator who walked six miles through a battlefield to defect to Ukraine. Not just any soldier — a member of Russia’s elite Rubicon drone unit. For weeks, he had been secretly talking to Ukrainian intelligence. 🧵 1/
