Mosely made the playoffs three years in a row in Orlando. The Pelicans/Hornets have made consecutive playoff appearances once in franchise history (2007-08, 2008-09) under Byron Scott. He’s not really below our standards. But it’s not an exciting hire nonetheless.

My top choices (of those interviewed) are Rondo, Borrego, and Hetzel. I don't want Mosley. But I can tell you right now how I'm going to talk myself into Mosley if he's the guy. Orlando has absolutely sonned us over and over again under that man. It's been embarrassing.

@NOLAJake Moseley dealt with a lot of injuries in Orl and still coached well enough to be competitive. Not the splash hire but i do think a step in the right direction. It wasnt a lazy search, and we didn’t end up with Ham so i wont complain right now.

The Pelicans don't want to go through a rebuild. They're looking to be competitive now and will be expecting Jamahl Mosley to immediately raise the floor of the tram

@JonoBarnes These are basically my sentiments as well. Rondo would’ve been fun to see play out but Moseley is a solid choice to me. He dealt with his share of injuries to starters and still coached well enough to stay competitive.

Rondo would have been fun because it could have gone really good or really bad. At this point, I cheer more for the Pelicans to be interesting just so that they can get the city to care. Mosley is safe. Won't get the city's attention. Good coach though. Look, the bar is in hell, so just make the playoffs and I'll be happy.
