@GerberKawasaki This is totally false. I pay taxes at the highest federal, state and city rate. Our funds are not structured in a manner to benefit from the lower carried interest rates.

One thing that is absurd is @BillAckman made $140 mil in income last year and paid a lower tax rate than a school teacher in LA due to the hedge fund tax scam called carried interest. This must be stopped. He is an investment manager and should be paid w2 income like I am.

Amazing!!! A parent raises concerns about boys being allowed in girls’ bathrooms. She speaks calmly, respectfully, using basic biology… and it resonates with people across the country. Now she’s stepping up to actually lead. Because that’s what happens when parents realize the adults in charge aren’t listening. School boards were never supposed to be ideological battlegrounds. They’re supposed to represent families and protect kids. And in communities like New Richmond, WI voters are about to decide what kind of leadership they want in their schools. One thing you notice when you read pretty much anything written more than 100 years ago is just how impoverished and bland and limited our language has become. People spoke and wrote in a kind of effortlessly rich and descriptive way that almost no one does today. On this site a lot of people write almost exclusively in cliches and internet lingo. A lot of people speak like that too. The language contracts, our conversational vocabulary shrinks more and more over time. And the more limited we become in our language, the more limited we are in our thinking.
