After 12 days of decongestion pricing, NYC saw a 51% drop in people getting hurt from car crashes.
But full disclosure, there was a 10,000% spike in hurt feelings on social media. 😢

Swarms of people come out of New York City’s subways every day. The subway carries 3.6 million people a day and buses carry another 1.4 million. There are only ~100K daily drivers into Manhattan.
Cars are giant, expensive space hogs.

Unless swarms of ppl are coming out of subway stations, biking in 20 degree weather or even taking Ubers, congestion pricing is killing Chinatown.

New York City is great today because a century ago, visionaries had the foresight to build infrastructure to what was then farmland in Queens.
We need leaders like that now to build projects like the IBX, Utica Ave. Subway, and N/W extension to LGA.

In reading the replies, I think people need to understand that you don't build for the city you have now, you build for the city you want to have. Vast majority of our system was built when city's nabes had completely different demographics and dev patterns.

If the goal is to "remove as many cars as possible from the terminal frontages during peak construction," just make the damn AirTrain free end-to-end and charge cars for entry to the airport roadways. This is not rocket science.
