Every paper currency has eventually failed. Why did they choose the boomers to begin their planned devaluation? The end of the gold standard was in 1971 when the oldest boomer was just 25 years old. That oldest boomer today is 80 years old. 55 years of devaluation for them.

@traderchicago7 My best trades were spreads that I'd scale in and out of. Had to wait to find someting out of whack on a seasonal. Sometimes would work it 4 to 6 weeks to build it then a few days to peel it off.

Floor traders were mostly scalpers. In and out, never took positions home. Computers replaced most of them A few big guys would walk the pit, do size, then sit with the position. Lots of side deals—most blew up, but the ones that worked are still paying today did a deal that became a 50/50 split Most survived by standing next to the deck, reading the flow locals But ag options and spreads? Those let you watch a trade develop and hold for months. I was never just a scalper. Cattle this month? That’s when you make most of the year. Trade a bunch of trades, look back, and 2-3 moves carried the year .. Have a deal working on always wanted to do in trading has the blood flowing one more run… learned just put the toe in .. the first 6 months Nobody knows it’s all managing the money and everyone personality is different.. 30s would have taken the money 2 weeks ago and had big nights out on the town ....older me learned when to press .. and will not get out at the low will give back 20 percent of the trade ..

Florida’s legendary orange groves are rapidly vanishing, and many fear they may never recover. Thirty years ago, the state produced roughly 225 million boxes of oranges. This season, the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecasts only about 12 million boxes — a staggering 95% decline in just one generation. The primary culprit is citrus greening (Huanglongbing), a devastating bacterial disease spread by the Asian citrus psyllid. Once infected, trees slowly decline, producing bitter, misshapen, and often partially green fruit before eventually dying. There is still no cure. Compounding the crisis are increasingly powerful hurricanes, which destroy trees, break branches, strip fruit, and demolish expensive protective screenhouses that cost up to $45,000 per acre. Many struggling growers are selling their land to real estate developers. Once converted into housing, roads, or commercial projects, those groves are gone forever. Florida orange juice once dominated American breakfast tables. Today, Brazil produces roughly 70% of the world’s orange juice supply, while the U.S. share has shrunk dramatically. Scientists are working urgently on disease-resistant varieties, but after more than two decades of relentless decline, many in the industry worry that the golden era of Florida oranges — once a defining symbol of the state — may never fully return. If Flock was JUST a license plate scanner, it would not be as bad. However, Flock collects the MAC address of your phone for device-to-vehicle matching, which would appear to be a 4th amendment violation.

To be clear, I literally could not care less about Flock as a corporation. I’m not “Pro-Flock” I don’t believe that any person is entitled to privacy in public. Many of the people who talk the most about this, built their careers by filming in public without or against consent.

Sold in Buffalo Grove as a way to find stolen cars, we had 6 car thefts in the year prior to installation. Buffalo Grove trustees approved a five-year, $230,100 contract with Flock Group Inc. in March 2024. The agreement covers the installation and leasing of 13 Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras, poles, permits, and network access through 2029.
