@kathleen_mcn Unfortunately if we relied on RTÉ we would have virtually no sport to watch no Aintree no Cheltenham no Golf noPremiership no Darts no Snooker

Said it on the pod during the week but great to be able to watch Arsenal vs. Lyon on RTÉ for the UWCL SF. I grew up in a house that only had free to air channels and the radio so the more access to as many diverse sports and tournaments and occasions is so important 🙌🏻

Sinn Féin are now just 7 points behind FF/FG
Mick Caul@caulmick

The coalition parties’ support has plunged to a record low of 32 per cent as economic anxiety has gripped the nation, the latest Business Post/Red C Poll shows. ⬆️@sinnfeinireland rising one point to 25 per cent, its strongest backing since April 2024. Fine Gael is the biggest loser since fuel protests ground the country to a halt as its support has tumbled 2 percentage points to 16 per cent, a historic low for the party. Fianna Fáil stuck on 16pc All other parties were unchanged this month, with independents on 12 per cent, the Social Democrats on 8 per cent, Aontú on 6 per cent, the Labour Party on 4 per cent, the Green Party on 3 per cent, and People Before Profit/Solidarity on 3 per cent. #REdC businesspost.ie/politics/exclu…

An elderly gentleman I know was found sitting in front of an electric oven to keep warm. He couldn't afford to buy oil or sticks to heat the house. Mícheál Martin has to go. aontu.ie/join-us/

Government finally does a u turn. After almost a week of chaos and protests . Now we see pump price reductions & carbon tax kicked down the road to October. Funny how “impossible” becomes “done by Sunday evening” when the pressure lands!

Since October 7th, I've believed that the three leaders of the main parties are being very poorly advised. I think their reactions and actions in response to October 7 were completely wrong. This made me scrutinise many other issues they've discussed and acted upon since then. At best, I believe they get things wrong because they cannot know everything about every issue, but they have advisers who should be well-informed about what they are advising the three leaders on. I believe the advice they receive is often influenced by personal views, reflecting the advisers' own values and priorities. I think Simon Harris, Micheal Martin, and Mary Lou McDonald would be better served with new advisors
John McGuirk@john_mcguirk

When the Taoiseach says during the week "that the vast majority of the public do not support these protests" and a reputable opinion poll the following weekend shows 56% support for protests, Government might want to consider whether their legion of advisors are worth the cash.

I have spoken to the protesters today. They are willing to allow 10 loads of fuel out of Whitegate today for emergency services. This could increase tomorrow if there are positive results from the talks today. The government must engage.
