“Today, and every day, we must take a stand.” On Saturday’s #FightRacism Day, @antonioguterres stresses: “We must fight for the dignity, rights and belonging of every person on earth, and erase the stain of racism from our world.” un.org/en/observances…

@EastLndonGroup Thank you

Sunday mornings are weekly occurrences. They are enhanced by your weekly Sunday morning posts for which we are thankful, Alan. These weekly Sunday posts provide us with the pleasure of viewing Cecil Osborne’s “Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road” every week.

Another #SundayMorning has arrived so here's our traditional start to the day. This is "Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road" by Cecil Osborne from the first Group show at Alex. Reid & Lefevre in December 1929. It is in the collection @BrightonMuseums. #CecilOsborne #EastLondonGroup

It’s exhausting having to challenge the relentless barrage of hate and misinformation from politicians and pundits about Muslims. For them, it’s become a lucrative industry. For us, it’s the safety of our family and friends being put at risk.

Good morning, Alan. It is always a signal that the weekend has started when your Saturday morning post with Brynhild Parker’s “Interior” lands. As ever, thank you for the Saturday tradition and for your many posts with #EastLondonGroup art and commentaries. We are fortunate.

It is #SaturdayMorning, once again, so here's our traditional start to the day & week-end. This is "Interior" by Brynhild Parker from 1930. It was once owned by Sir David Scott, who was an avid art collector who owned 17 pieces of ELG work! #BrynhildParker #EastLondonGroup

From 8am Monday Sheep Lane will be closed to fix potholes. The road from the A5 Flying Fox roundabout to Woburn is finally to be surfaced after four months of us all having to dodge those terrible potholes. Closed 8am - 6pm from Mon 23 March to no later than Wed 1 April.

Within just 48 hours of the Tories refusing to sack Nick Timothy for his Islamophobic comments, the far-right is circulating a list of MPs “of foreign descent” trying to “silence” him. This is what happens when racism is normalised from the top: democratically elected representatives being told that we shouldn't be allowed to make decisions here at all, and even that we should leave the country. It’s a racist attack on our very democracy. Will Nick and his party condemn it?

I’m not convinced Muslim prayer in Trafalgar Square is an act of dominance. Islam is hardly unique in considering itself the one true religion.. But the fact the PM thinks Nick Timothy should be sacked undermines the claim we are all free to criticise Islam despite the new anti-Muslim hostility definition.
