Stargate Universe started 13 years ago today. I know a lot of fans struggled with this show because it was different from SG-1 and Atlantis, but on the contrary, it was a good thing for me. However, it needed an ending.

@KasumiKriss Some people would be bit about that. It’s good to want to be there to help others grow rather than seeking and unhealthy way to fill the void or become bitter amd angry.

There was a stretch of my life, from about age nine to sixteen, when my mom wasn’t really around. My dad raised me during those years, and while he did a great job, I realised I might have missed out on certain kinds of wisdom—things a woman might have taught me. I grew up a bit of a tomboy, shaped by the energy around me and figuring things out as I went. I wish the person I am now could go back and be there for that younger version of me—listen to her, guide her, reassure her. Not because anything was wrong, but because there was something missing. That reflection has inspired me. It’s made me want to be a strong, steady presence for other girls, to be the kind of support I once needed. Not to dwell on the past, but to grow from it, and help others do the same

In general, I’m all for general, old school vaccines. Measles, smallpox, etc are all a bad way to die. I don’t like when I’m being told to just trust that some untested method that has potential to alter DNA is being forced through because of a panicked reaction. I got Covid once. I lived. Haven’t gotten it again. The reason some people can go without getting any normal vaccines their whole lives is because everyone else around them got it so they aren’t getting the disease and passing it onto the unvaccinated, a so called “herd immunity” effect. Outbreaks of measles in parts of Texas show what happens when you start introducing lots of unvaccinated folks into communities. I’ll leave it there
