Obviously bait, but I’ll bite. If anyone truly believes Eddie Howe should have won the a league title or the Champions League (the only European comp he’s managed in) while managing us, Bournemouth or Burnley - they need their head testing. #nufc

@JakeJackmann How exactly did he overachieve in any of his seasons? He had massive January investment to stay up, and then had one of the best midfield 3’s, 9’s, and a solid European back line in a weak premier league where 3 of the biggest sides fell of massively.

@Johnny4PM I think he overachieved in two seasons, met the base line in another and underachieved in this one. 7th/8th remains par for us until we surpass the revenues of the top six.

@JakeJackmann Something he did with literally less than half the spending though. Howe has underachieved with his financial backing and to say otherwise is pure bias.

@Johnny4PM One of the seasons Emery delivered European football was by finishing 7th in the league. Something Howe did without the same reward. I agree with your general point and Europe should have been minimum expectation this season, but this season has been the only really bad one.

@JakeJackmann That’s not consistent European football though, every time his fixture list is congested he literally cannot perform. Emery has a total spend of just over £300 million and has been able to consistently retain European football despite having a smaller budget and a worse side.

@Johnny4PM Disagree on the inconsistency. We’ve been very consistent. 4th - 7th - 5th in his previous three completed seasons. He was unlucky to miss out on Europe two years ago, as 7th usually gets it. The last 12 months have been really bad though and he’s lucky not to lose his job.

@agbnufc_ @K11Luc @NUFCMurph You have to take risks to progress. Spurs’ issue was that they consistently misused their money, more so than the coaches they brought in. We need someone like Hoeneß, Terzic, or Bosz who can build an efficient system and a defined style of possession based play.

@K11Luc @NUFCMurph Nah I'm saying those are the likely coaches, and they're not elite, that's the risk that it actually goes Spursy with another appointment like that.

Getting rid of Howe is the 'easy part', the hard part is convincing an elite established coach to take this rebuild on, it's a fair opinion. Who is that guy? I'd need faith these owners can actually make a big decision, they're off playing golf somewhere.

@Brighty009 @NUFCMurph Loads of coaches. Ilzer, Hoeneß, Sage, Bosz, Motta, Rose, Terzic, Italiano, we could probably even coax Inzaghi considering our owners already pay his wages. Howe is not an elite manager, not an innovator, and he never will be. He has to be moved on ASAP.

@NUFCMurph I think the point is who would be prepared to come who would be an upgrade on EH? I will always love him for what he has done but I do think, maybe it’s time for a change of direction next season. Either way it will be a risk in my opinion.

I'm imagining since there isn't a single manager in World Football better than Eddie Howe, he'll be away at the end of the season due to having offers from every single club in the world to take the managers position.

@LewisBowden_ @wo01yy Sage, Hoeneß, Ilzer, Italiano, Hubert, Motta, Bosz would all probably be gettable and are all better coaches than Howe. Just because you don’t watch European football doesn’t mean that the technical director won’t be aware of the European talent pool.

My stance is if you even wanted Howe out, logically you’d wait end of season for World Cup managers. If you’re Howe out, what are your realistic ideas for what we should do?

@Doddsy228904442 No, this came from Canal do Pedrosa. He’s essentially a club mouthpiece for Vasco. Ironically, it would’ve been the only signing last year that fit the clubs proposed transfer strategy. Howe has to go for the club to enact its vision.

@Doddsy228904442 £43 million is cheap? For a player who struggled to get minutes consistently for a Villa side with 0 depth? Our recruitment team were offered Rayan by Vasco and his camp for less than £30 million pounds, and had made contact in summer. Howe didn’t want him. Howe IS the issue.

Igor Thiago cost €33m. Yoane Wissa was sold for €57m. Thiago only needs to score 4 goals in the remaining 17 matches to outscore Wissa's best season. Getting €55m off the back of a season (where he wasn't even a top 2 player at the club) might be Brentford's best ever sale.

@NUFCJordd @nialldodds98 He’s always been a 9. He has played over 70% of his career minutes as a 9, and almost all of his minutes as a 10 came in the 3. Liga for Elvesberg or for Werders youth setup. He is clearly more effective as a 9. He doesn’t have the physical or technical profile for a 10.

@Jake_armstrong9 Are these underlying stats in the room with us? The first stat sheet is from his performance in the league this year, the second is from 23/24. This is without looking at every single in depth number…some of which are very, very bad…eg key passes and his TTDTO.

Gordon speaking on his performances this season and I have to completely agree. His underlying numbers are very similar to that double digit G/A season and there has definitely been an element of unluckiness in his output not being as high as it should be this season. #NUFC

@NUFCLC The subs in the last two weeks have been the exact same like for like subs we’ve seen from him all year…they just luckily worked out. There wasn’t a change of system or style, literally zero game management. Ramsey arguably gifted the team a goal, complete reactionary glaze.
