In a post about highlighting math only to fail it, I checked the comments and the first ten I saw did not note this failure
Given that AI is also bad at math, my suggestion to all the kids out there wondering what the future holds: learn math, and you'll have a path to success

Somehow they've been outscored by 206 (!) points in the 3rd quarter of games this season. Gotta fix that.

Third quarter: 13 of the Sixers’ 18 shots were threes or deep twos. They shot 2-for-13 on those Fourth quarter: only 6 of their 20 shots were threes. They went 11-for-20 in the quarter Good things happen when you drive the ball

I am cautiously optimistic about Stott this year – the data says some of his 2H improvements were real last year
Do I think he's going to breakout into a great offensive player? No. But I do think he could have his best offensive season (say .750-.760 OPS)

Why stats matter: The NBA regular season is 173 days long.
If you watched 2 games per day, EVERY day in that span, fully paying attention & with a perfectly trained eye test = 346 games watched.
Distributed equally, that's 28% of each team's season.
Or the equivalent of turning off a game in the first 2 minutes of Q2 and being forced to assume nothing changed the rest of the game.
A perfect eye test doesn't work if your eyes are closed for most of the performance period. But that just isn't realistic, even for the most sicko of fans.
And where stats help fill in gaps.
