@Czooba Mr. Vivell JR, exactly what qualifies you to evaluate this investment? Some of Uniteds fans are just plain delusional.

Ederson was offered to Atletico Madrid by Atalanta for less but they chose Joao Gomes instead But with Man United, we are paying more for our 3rd midfield option with a year left in his contract. Why can’t we bargain for a cheaper fee knowing that there is no other top team with keen interest. This will enable us enough funds for our main midfield targets United fans get excited over every new addition until they struggle and they end up blaming the club

Kenya is set to introduce biofuel blending rules (E5 and E10), which means mixing petrol with 5% to 10% ethanol from plants. The plan is set to reduce fuel imports and increase use of locally produced biofuels.

@moneyacademyKE This is an industry standard worldwide and should have been implemented ages ago. Western Kenya cane factories can now invest money in building distilleries to generate revenue from the sale of ethanol to oil marketers for blending while also increasing cane farmer payouts.

@BoardLotSultan Fantastic work. I've been trying to get a hold of this broad info for a while now. Such information would never be comparable with results from these modern day AI driven engines.

@TimKipchumba Trump says a deal with Iran is almost ready. EPRA has today found a way to cut costs by 10 shillings/litre by having a kerosene - diesel tradeoff. A further 2 month MAX govt subsidy as the situation in Iran stabilises should be enough reprieve to have the prices back sub 200.

To subsidize fuel by Kes 50, we need to abolish 33 counties. I explain below. I agree Parliament must be recalled from recess. They’ll have to do some trade offs and some math. Some data to start us off: - Kenya annual consumption : consumes roughly 6–7 billion litres of petroleum products annually (petrol + diesel + kerosene combined). - Monthly this is 500–600 million litres Now let’s see what people are asking for in subsidy. If government subsidized fuel by KSh 50 per litre, the monthly cost would be approximately 50* 500m or 50*600m This is KSh 25–30 billion per month [KSh 300–360 billion per year] What does this mean? - 72% -86% of county Counties (Equitable Share) - 51% of Kenya’s entire education budget. - 2–2.6 times the entire national health budget - CDF will have been dropped 5X over -21X statehouse budget -13X judiciary budget -7.2X parliament budget When you hear people mention KSh 50 fuel subsidy as a small measure - it is not a “small relief measure.” We are in a difficult moment. And we must remember this in our pursuit for political relevance. I wish parliament the best. BUT they should definately be recalled from recess. For once you miss Baba @RailaOdinga. He would know that on a time like this, Jenya is facing a much bigger problem than anything ever in its history. - @TimKipchumba

Parliament must be recalled from recess. Fuel Products must be exempted from VAT. We must reduce Fuel Levies. Extra funds for Subsidies must be provisioned. We are African and Africa is our Business..

How does an #EPRA board sit down and approve fuel prices of KSh 240 plus. At some point, make hard decisions like fuel subsidies, tax cuts or any intervention to keep fuel affordable. High fuel prices affect everything. What a shambles from the GOVT

@MativoMJohn The Lekki refinery is powered by a 1100 KM natural gas pipeline. There's no way the refinery in Mombasa hits efficiency with any other power source apart from piped natural gas from TZ. Tanzania has proper natural gas infrastructure, with more deposits recently discovered.

CAPTIVE ELECTRICITY DEMAND The Dangote Group refinery — has a Capacity of about 650,000 barrels per day at full operation. The refinery in Lekki, Nigeria is estimated to consume around 435 MW of electricity at full operation. Using 8 gas turbines and 4 steam turbines, the Total installed generation capability is about 570 MW, giving operational reserve beyond the refinery’s normal demand. *Even a plant in Mombasa will run probably using captive power.

@DiamondDk20 @DavidNdii FYI, a marginal 4.5% growth on the best performing economy in East Africa ($140 Billion), still makes it the best. A 9.2% growth on a $120 billion economy still makes it second best.

My older brother missed my graduation. No call. No message. Nothing. Everyone kept asking, “Where is he?” and I just kept smiling, as if it didn’t matter, but it did. That night, I muted his contact. Three days later, there was a knock on our door. He stood there tired, unshaven, holding a small wrapped box. “I’m sorry,” he said. “I couldn’t leave the site. If I didn’t finish that job, they wouldn’t pay me and I needed the money for this.” Inside the box was a simple wristwatch. “I wanted you to have something that reminds you. Your time is just starting.” I didn’t know whether to cry or feel guilty. Sometimes, people don’t show up the way we expect them to. But it doesn’t mean they didn’t care.
