Can Dune surpass The Lord of the Rings legacy?

Councilmember Jamie Gauthier is changing the zoning on many of the public schools slated for closure, making potential redevelopment of the properties more challenging inquirer.com/politics/phila…

BREAKING: I introduced legislation today to correct the zoning for 5 schools targeted by the School District of Philadelphia's facilities master plan. For decades, powerful forces have pushed working-class Black and brown families out of University City to make way for moneyed interests. Now the School District wants to close Paul Robeson High and Blankenburg Elementary to redevelop the land. The District should be focused on educational outcomes, not development ones. FETTERMAN is the only Dem yes, allowing nom to move forward Senate GOP leaders planning floor vote early next week

In January, I called on the president to fire Noem—and he did. I truly approached the confirmation of my colleague and friend, Senator Mullin, with an open-mind. We need a leader at DHS. We must reopen DHS. My AYE is rooted in a strong committed, constructive working relationship with Senator Mullin for our nation’s security.

Oregon may ban unfunded affordable housing mandates — because data proves they suppress homebuilding. When cities require below-market units without offsetting costs, developers build fewer homes, pushing up prices for everyone. California still uses the same counterproductive approach that Oregon may ban. sightline.org/2026/03/05/ore…
