I know SEPTA is nowhere near perfect but I do think it’s pretty cool that I can catch a bus a few blocks from my house at York and Aramingo and be at the Art Museum steps in just about 20 minutes.

The city blocked off half the ridiculously wide intersection at Brewerytown Drive and Girard Ave, and it is so much better to cross on foot or bike.

@_NotA_Bot_ And it’s a moot point since every TOD station in west is in the MIN overlay, purely by coincidence I imagine

Additionally, the density bonuses, where they are proposed near transit, are tiny. Just *7 ft* in additional height for most zoning districts.

I think we’d actually be better off as a city if city council *did* take developer bribes, honestly lol

@alanthefisher Everything is zero-sum to them. The only time someone benefits (a new place to live in a neighborhood they like), it’s always at someone else’s expense. District councilmembers are more akin to HOA attorneys than actual leaders

@JohnnyWalsh__ Any new development feels like a threat when you've lived your entire life within a declining city. It's weird to them that philly is becoming nicer

It’s crazy that at least 4 of the sitting district members of Philadelphia city council are actively pro-blighted neighborhoods

@ninthhostage New multifamily housing in the 3rd district is already effectively banned, it’s just one hit after another

I do not know a whole lot about the facilities master plan, but it seems pretty clear to anyone who’s just learning about this casually that maybe a school district that’s 70,000 kids short of their capacity (and growing) should think about consolidating?

DelCo is not allowed to complain about housing prices or cost of living. You had your opportunity to get dense housing next to a train station and you instead forced them down to 29 luxury homes. archive.is/y82bL
