@DesMoines32 @Smelliott_Frey Fair, but all other schools were throwing money at those kids too. The new system lets financially stronger schools pluck 2 or 3 year starters away from smaller schools for more money. You don’t think Rocco or those guys didn’t have options or more money? They chose Campbell.

@JonDavidSlater @Smelliott_Frey What people are upset about; he is trying to make it like money had nothing to do with anything..money had everything to do with it..and HE threw money at ISU players to get them to go; and is trying to make it like they worship and followed him for that..

One more observation. The tone in which he says “things changed and they went their way…” as if Iowa State owed him and had to select Mouser is laughable. Have your cake and eat it too at its finest. I’m glad Pollard didn’t succumb to that.

NEW: Matt Campbell tells @AndyAriOn3 he became emotional watching Iowa State players and their families choose to follow him: "My number one goal was for our football team there (Iowa State) to be taken care of." "I remember we had 20 players and their families at Penn State for a visit, and I literally broke down and cried the first meeting with them because it was overwhelming."

@Smelliott_Frey So you’re ultimately just upset he took a job that doubled his salary, gave him a real chance to win a natty, and moved closer to family, even after giving us 10 of the best years of cyclone football?? Thats fair, but the exact same exodus would have happened if he got fired.

@ISU_redacted @CoachMC_PSU Bad take. The portal system is what allowed it to happen. Whats he supposed to do, tell all the guys who can now move elsewhere that he demands them to stay at iowa state?

The more you hear from @CoachMC_PSU the more you realize he’s a fucking snake who only cares about himself. Don’t let the fact he stayed here 10 years distract you from the dozens of times he entertained different jobs while preaching about “loyalty”

You’re selling a dream. This works when you already have an audience or distribution. If you’re starting from 0, nobody sees your “perfect funnel,” your lead magnet, or your landing page. With no network, the real job isn’t prompts—it’s distribution: – inserting into Reddit threads – replying to YouTube comments – capturing search traffic – testing small paid traffic No traffic = no business. The AI stack isn’t the edge anymore. Getting attention is.

@ChrisMWilliams What was the root cause behind so many of the team choosing to enter the transfer portal?

Here are some notable quotes from Pollard specifically on the women's basketball front. Note, these are not all of the quotes. Just ones I pulled on topics of fan interest. Watch the whole video for complete recap. “Our coaches will have more than enough revenue share dollars to be able to attract some of the best student athletes possible” “One of the many traits I appreciate about Coach Fennelly is his resiliency.’ “Coach Fennelly wants to be able to finish what he started and to finish it the right way. He has been loyal to our program for the last 31 years. He could have entered the transfer portal at any time during that time period and he chose to stay at Iowa State.” “We have chosen to support Coach Fennelly’s desire to finish what he started the right way. His loyalty and his success has earned him the opportunity to finish his career the right way.” "I encourage our fans - despite any disappointment that any of us have about the transfer portal - to continue to support our women’s basketball program, our coaching staff, for any student athletes that continue to wear the cardinal and gold in the future.”

TJ Otzelberger with the latest on Joshua Jefferson: “There’s nothing new at this point. We are going to give him every opportunity up until the game. At this point, it would be premature to make any type of determination until we get closer to tip.”

The quiet cause of most disagreements: Secret expectations. Your boss assumes you have context. Your partner assumes you've got it. You assume your employees will use "common sense." Remove the guesswork. Ask. Align. Agree. Make the implicit explicit. Say the quiet part out loud.

@dklineii @matt_gray_ So good. In my work with leaders, their inability to clearly articulate what good looks like, with clear standards and specifics, is one of the top reasons they can’t get results from their team.

Hot take: 41 is the perfect age for men. You're not so old that the end seems near but you're still strong and full of energy. And you've learned enough in 20+ years of adulthood to be only kinda stupid.

@PennStateFball Die hard Cyclone fan here. You’ve got a good one. Penn State is instantly my number 2 team, underneath Iowa State for as long as Campbell is there, which I would guess, is the next 20 years.

@clones2thebone Stop it. Until some Billionaire ISU Alum can donate 100 mil a year, our beloved Cyclones will never be able to compete for a National Title. Matt knew that and he wants to see what he can do. We need some self-aware of where we fit nationally. Do you want a non driven coach???

I'll always love and appreciate what Coach Campbell did for this program but I'm honestly tired of feeling like he doesn't wanna be here. That is over now. I honestly don't think he ever intended to stay in Ames forever. He now leaves the program in ruins

@TommyToughconst @jontweetssports Yes. Correct. Not because those other teams suck, but because of objective better opportunity with NIL money to offer athletes, Salary, and long term chances to win multiple championships.

@JonDavidSlater @jontweetssports Keep that same energy for every program then. Indiana shouldn’t expect to keep their coach. Tennessee shouldn’t expect to keep theirs if they make it far. Anyone that isn’t a top 5 program should expect their coach to leave them for better because they suck.

@Lane_Kiffin “I made the difficult decision to leave my wife who’s been very loyal to me for a woman she despises. I was hoping to keep living in our house through Christmas & acting like nothing was wrong. My request was denied by my wife despite the kids wanting me to stay thru Christmas.”
