@zodomo @scupytrooples Isn't it optional currently? I'm assuming by your comparison with Equifax that just being a resident of the US obligates you to it, but if you never used a banking/financial service, you would never KYC. Making it optional for those would defeat the purpose.

@scupytrooples Purely opt-in KYC needs to be the norm. An impossible to opt-out system (existing credit infra in US: Equifax, etc) is why I share this same opinion.

I would only ever KYC for on-chain dapps if: 1) doing so grants on and off-ramping capabilities AND 2) the data is secured by zkSnarks where the user possesses the data and can control read access to it sry but I can't trust a KYC provider to not have a data breach

@0xNlKlTA Would love to see a well-implemented DeFi insurance. Hard to pull off though, large market events (like FTX) = large payouts, and security breaches are hard to prove if you have the motive to make your funds "disappear" and make a claim. Would love to hear your ideas.

DeFi's next checkpoint is insurance, and proper risk management. Especially given all the circus happening around the "well-established" and "reputable" CeFi. I bet the next market wave will raise the insurance niche to a brand new height, and I'm here for it 🤙
