The BBC is running a story trying to pull at our heartstrings for starving fathers in Afghanistan who are ready to sell their young daughters just to buy food. One man weeps while holding his seven-year-old twins, saying he'll sell one to feed the rest. Another already sold his five-year-old. I don't care how hungry I get I would never do this. Not in a million years. These beautiful, innocent little girls are being treated like goods to be traded by the very men who are supposed to protect them. Instead, they're guarded by monsters. Poverty and hunger are horrific, but selling your own child isn't an "impossible choice" it's a moral failure. The BBC can frame it as tragic desperation all they want, but we should be disgusted and outraged for the daughters, not feeling sorry for the fathers willing to do this. These children deserve real protectors, not men who see them as a survival asset. Absolutely sickening

No, not everyone is supposed to and that’s the problem. And I haven’t even hit the luck part yet as the job is still no guarantee, but it’s my best shot. We were all fucked by the government through no fault of our own despite doing exactly what we were told to do for a good life. It’s just the reality of the situation at this point - get really lucky or get creative. Almost nobody in the government cares, and even if they did care they wouldn’t do anything because fixing the problem requires a temporary dip in the stock market. Most boomers are actively opposed to us because their money is tied to the stock market. So I can and still will keep screaming about the problem to my tiny social media platform. But nobody who can fix it cares. The only options are to get creative or live in poverty forever. Finding another line of work isn’t even an option as those are getting flooded with foreign visas as well now that tech is fully saturated. Learning a trade won’t be an option for long because as Americans realize degrees are useless, they’ll put into trades and saturate those markets as well. This is the issue with importing so many foreign slaves. The job market can only support so many workers. At a certain point, all sectors and all options become bad options. Most people have no idea how existentially bad the problem really is and I see nobody coming to help us in the immediate future.
