@90shal The Death Star plans get stolen half a dozen times in the old EU. Kyle's is the most prominent story. Also Jan Ors & Kyle Katarn have a little bit similar names to Jyn Erso & Cassian Andor.

Star Fox 2 (SNES, unreleased until SNES Mini/NSO): A distinct, different game (more open-world elements, different campaign). Star Fox 64 (N64, 1997): A reboot of the original with a new story, upgraded graphics/tech, and the classic branching path structure. Star Fox Assault (GameCube, 2005): Completely original story continuation, new mechanics like on-foot sections, tank/walker modes, and multiplayer focus. Not a remake. Star Fox 64 3D (3DS, 2011): Straight-up enhanced port/remaster of Star Fox 64 with gyro controls and better visuals. Basically the same game. Star Fox Zero (Wii U, 2016): Not a remake. It starts similar but quickly goes its own way with a different campaign, levels, bosses, and story beats. It's a reimagining with new gameplay (dual-screen stuff) Star Fox (Switch 2, June 25, 2026): This is indeed the first proper modern remake of Star Fox 64, ground up visuals, redesigned characters, added co-op and multiplayer, while staying faithful to the core game

I've been playing FFXI lately and what I'm noticing the most is how derivative ARR is of it. I think this moment right here is where FFXIV breaks out into its own unique brand of Final Fantasy, and there's a sudden and noticeable shift in quality after this patch.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS - this cutscene takes place AFTER the events of Final Fantasy X and BEFORE X-2 so please don't watch if you've not finished X!

@KropolisGaming @FaerunSiren It wasn’t in-game, originally in Japan it was on a bonus disc included with FFX International (or Unlimited Saga for people who didn’t re-buy the game) and in the States there was a PlayStation Magazine demo disc that had it and a X-2 demo.

Yeah there were no bad Star Wars novels or video games before Disney came along and all the movies were universally praised. It’s a mystery to this day why Lucas sold Star Wars rather than make Episodes VII-IX.

@autopatch @FF_XIV_EN The only ones locked are Steam and PC/Mac. You can already play the same character on, say, Steam and PS5, with the caveat that you have to re-acquire the game/expansions on the other platform.

@FF_XIV_EN Does this mean that characters are now playable across platforms, or is the MogStation still locking their characters to the platform they were created on? This has been a huge pain point for years for people who have both a Steam license, Windows license and a Mac license. We should be able to play all our characters anywhere we have an active platform license.

this is legitimately incredible. the fact there was no AI usage and had live action references, the body language and certain actions changing to match the hand movements, just overall really fucking cool they did this and great representation for the ASL community
