@ezraklein listened to the pod yesterday and the one thing that struck me is how we (the left) ignore the way the 2017 tax cuts are first added back in when scoring the big beautiful bill. It doesn't seem helpful for really understanding it's net effect? It seems to exaggerate it?

Every time someone tries to say ASO or AEO, and then says "It's like SEO for AI" they should realize that it will end up being called AI-SEO and move on. These new acronyms are not going to stick.

@danshipper Right. I could sort of suspend disbelief before, and think of Open AI as separate from Microsoft and the vessel of a dream for humanity. But I can never think about Microsoft as the vessel for my dreams.

Honestly, this is all just deeply sad. Something very special broke this weekend. There will be new things to be excited about soon, but right now I feel grief.

@danshipper I have this same question because my feeling is that there’s some Byzantine layout of training pipelines and mountains of training data that are not portable (or even re-obtainable) to any new MSFT subsidiary.

Does Microsoft own or have access to the data from ChatGPT?

@defrag What kind of business jujitsu is this where my initial fear that Microsoft had staged a coup to take over Open AI is supposed to turn into relief that Microsoft is going to save Open AI?

there is very little doubt in my mind that in the short-to-mid term, msft is the winner in this OAI debacle. Longer term, it opens up tons of space for google and AWS.

@msuster I have the same problem. If I wear the watch further up my wrist it can help (especially if I start the run with a low cadence) It seems like if you start the run with a quick cadence of around 160 steps per minute, then the watch confuses that for your HR.

My Apple Watch heart-rate monitor never works properly first 10 mins of run. Any tips on fixing?

People are saying that Sam should go build a new company and it will quickly compete but I think that it would be incredibly time consuming and difficult to recreate the training data and, I’m guessing, script spaghetti pipeline that is used to train GPT.

@1Password 1) it could be shown there, yes, or it could just work if I press cmd-C like a power user feature. 2) lastpass notices if you login with a different password than what it has stored and offers to update to the one you used.

@JonXtensen Hey, Jon. Thanks for the feedback. So that we can share your thoughts with the team, could you clarify if (1) you would like to see the option to copy to the clipboard in the same 'use suggested password' drop down menu? And (2) are you referring to website password requirements?

@1Password 2 product enhancements, please. 1) (easy) When you say 'use suggested password' make the password copyable into the clipboard because sometimes it doesn't autofill properly. 2) (harder but LastPass does it) notice when a different password works and offer to update.
