I have a serious question. Why wouldnt Samuel Piette request a transfer from CF Montreal today? At 31 years old, wouldn't the veteran midfielder want to go to a more ambitious club that actually gives him a shot at winning some trophies in the last years of his career? The loss would be tremendous for the club and a big dissapointment to the fans, but in a very selfish way, what does Sam have to lose? CF Montreal is in the middle of their rebuild and we don't know when they'll start being competitive again, so why not join a team where even as a bench player he has an opportunity at a championship?

@Taoiseach5 @ethsleeprepeat has the same opinion you do about Martin Dagenais. I personally hope we let Beausoleil have a real shot. I don’t think he would make the same mistakes Robitaille made with the dual role.
English

@Jon_Noel I wholeheartedly agree. If Beausoleil thought that he was a rising star, I think he should have given him a good reference to get a job in the LHJAAAQ or Midget AAA. This is not the stage for your first head coaching gig.
I suspect that Martin Dagenais is a likely candidate.

I'm truly astonished by the heart and grit of the playoff series against the Huskies.
My beginning of the year prediction had the Olympiques finishing 5th in the West, putting up a real fight for home ice.
It's a young team, nobody expected a championship this year.
Nik Coulter@Taoiseach5
If you would have asked me about the team two months ago, this is what I would have said -
English

@Taoiseach5 Yeah I also think he wasnt a great coach. If we don’t hire Beausoleil as HC next season we have to go with someone with experience. No more learning on the job.
English

@Jon_Noel That's very interesting. I think we all assumed that he just wasn't doing *anything,* but that would check out too.
English

@Taoiseach5 I heard so many horror stories from people really close to the locker about l’oiseau. He really destroyed the players confidence from what I was told. Beausoleil had a lot of shit to repair.

Atmosphere in Ottawa is the only thing that’d be top tier
It’s a bunch of angry mfers who took the gamble to drive to Kanata to watch this team potentially break our hearts
Location id put us last.
College rinks have better Amenities than us.
Affordability? When you’re the only water bottle in a 10 minute radius with no re-entry the sens can, and do, charge quite a bit though the tickets are pretty affordable.
@Senators @ottawacity @NCC_CCN wake the fuck up yall should be embarrassed

.@TheAthletic ranked all 32 NHL teams’ home rinks using four key categories: location, amenities, atmosphere, and affordability. Scores were created by using writers' rank and fan rank. The Bench came in 3rd overall, with fans ranking it 2nd best.

The best part about today is it should be my last time seeing Bob Dyce on the @REDBLACKS sideline at lansdowne.

When Olivier Renard arrived at @cfmontreal, he inherited some bad contracts: Taider 3,2M and Urruti 1,7M. A couple of years later, Wanyama was extended at 1,8M - which was not his call. Not to mention Renard's budget was cut by 3M.
Every year, Renard, had to deal with having the lowest salary payroll in the MLS. Despite these challenges, Renard's teams were always competitive. One year, they had the 3rd best record in the league. When it got to the point that Renard's hands were tied and he no longer could do the job the way he wanted to, Renard, had a decision to make. He could stay, keep his title and collect his salary but all this while being a puppet. Or, leave. Renard, chose to leave because he did not want to tarnish his reputation of a highly qualified Sporting Director.
When Renard left, some were told that he wanted to be a one man show and he didn’t often go with others advice. At his last media scrum following his departure, Renard, told the media that a baker should not take advice from people who do not know how to make a grilled cheese.
This season, in CF Montreal’s 1st full season with a new management team, with a new coaching staff and with at least 15 new players - the results are as follows:
- 3 wins in 21 MLS games (last in the East)
- Eliminated by a CPL team in the Canadian Championship. Conceded 3 goals in 2 games; two of the goals were in Montreal.
Last night, Marco Donadel said the loss had nothing to do with the tactics. After Donadel made the subs he made, his team became open and unbalanced. And,
they got beat on counters. Not to mention, his defensive man marking system does not work. Donadel is a good man, but truth be told, Bobby put Marco in his back pocket.
Where is the accountability? And, where is the media to hold everyone accountable? Some do, too many do not.
Today is July 10, 2025 and the club finds itself with nothing to play for this season. The club has lost their passion - the owner admitted as much in a TV interview several months ago. On top of that, they have lost their ambition and they have lost their way.
The team does not excite, the players do not excite, their game does not excite. Attendance has dropped and more and more people who were once fans, have become indifferent.
It is time for one or two to take a long look in the mirror and do the right thing/s....before it too late.
As they say en Français: La farce a assez duré.

@Jon_Noel Dyce is no coach. Goes heavy on special teams ans linebacker leaving the Team thin
English

@RedBlackGade @FootballCapital You have two timeouts. Use them. You can’t collect them.
Would’ve saved 3 seconds and could’ve kicked a FG.
English

@Jon_Noel @FootballCapital To be fair, that last play they just too long to snap the ball, which is understandable given that Ruby has never played centre for Ottawa before
