Republicans rig maps because they can’t win on ideas. I’m not afraid of fair maps—that’s why I filed a bill for an independent redistricting commission. If you have to cheat to win, you didn’t win.

We’ve faced threats to our leadership, financial stability, and even bomb threats undermining our safety. But we’re standing strong. This fight isn’t just about Texas—it’s about fighting to protect the future of our democracy.

Texas lawyer here. I read the brief. It’s astonishingly stupid. For many reasons. But start here: - Breaking quorum is a well-established political tool used by both parties. It’s not abandonment (no one is permanently giving up their duties). It’s a strategy within a voting body to impact a potential … vote. - We know what bribery is. It’s influence peddling. Not fundraising from the public to cover travel/fines (standard political activity). These arguments are deeply unserious.

We’ve broken quorum. The ball is in Governor Abbott’s court.  Who do you play for — the people of Texas or President Trump?

The president is not entitled to anything.  The voters are entitled to everything.

Breaking Quorum is an exceptional and extraordinary act of last resort.  It is not a decision I take lightly.  But Texas Democrats will stand up and protect democracy, even if it comes at a great cost.

They’re willing to break the law to cling to power. We’re willing to break quorum to protect it. We don’t stand by. We stand up.

If Republicans are scared of Texas voters, they should adjust their policies — not rig our maps. We’re breaking quorum to protect our democracy. And we’re not backing down.

BREAKING: The House just passed the Life of the Mother Act — a bill I helped lead to ensure Texas doctors can provide lifesaving care without fear of prosecution. After Roe fell, women paid the price. This is progress — and we’ll keep fighting.

I was the Chief Human Trafficking Prosecutor in Harris County. I put predators behind bars. Rep. Alders says I want kids to access “inappropriate” books. That’s political theater. While some chase headlines, I protect kids from real harm. I fight for safety, not soundbites.

Pregnant Texans are in danger. HB 44 is vital to let doctors provide care without fear — and protect mothers from unnecessary death. We have an opportunity to make meaningful change today, but we won’t stop until these bans are repealed.

Judges don’t flip a coin and set criminals free. Real justice reform means understanding the system – judges' roles & the for-profit bail industry. Misinformation & partisanship undermines justice & public safety. We can’t fix a broken system if politics distorts the problem.
