The likelihood Carson Benge breaks Mets camp becomes less with every passing signing. The Mets RF room now consists of MJ Melendez, Vidal Bruján, Tyrone Taylor, Brett Baty and Mike Tauchman. Not the worst thing if he starts in Triple-A, but not ideal.

@DanBartels2 1. Why wouldn’t they “hedge” with other options? None of the names you mention would be good. Tauchman could actually start. 2. Tauchman is an easy fit as PH & 5th OF on this team if Benge is starting.

Tauchman’s deal is a minor league one, but the fact still remains. The Mets seem to be hedging their bets if Benge doesn’t break camp.

The Knicks are currently considered a serious long shot to pull off a Giannis Antetokounmpo deadline trade. Due to New York’s lack of draft picks, plus little trade interest elsewhere on Karl-Anthony Towns, the offseason presents a better opportunity to finally acquire Giannis.

@BigKnickEnergy_ Any deal featuring Thanasis while KAT has been a Knick would’ve been a S&T, which would’ve hard-capped the Knicks at the first apron, which they wouldn’t have done. Portis re-signed before FA started and Bridges remains ineligible to be traded. So when would this have happened?

We don’t not know what the current offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo looks like but we do know a package of Mikal Bridges, Karl Anthony Towns & Deuce McBride was once offered for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Thenasis Antetokounmpo & Bobby Portis.

@TheCohencidence @JCMacriNBA You want to get nuts? How about an IQ + RJ package for KAT & and asset not in Knicks top 7 & anything needed for salaries to match? Toronto needs a center & IQ has been on the block. Looking forward, IQ or RJ are easier to move for Giannis than KAT.

@BMiggy He didn’t hit 40-45 homers the last 2 seasons. Why would he as he ages? The last time he hit 40+ he also hit .217 & it was not a good season overall. I love Pete too but some of the takes are hilarious.
