@razor_5599 @LeslieMinesIII Couldn't agree more (on both Bryce AND Trea). Loved to hate on him early in his career, but he's grown into a great ambassador for the game. Much respect!
English

@LeslieMinesIII I love him, respect him, he’s a great player and a great representative of the Phillies. I hope he never gets another hit against the Braves for the rest of his career. Also, I’m terrified of Trea Turner.

They’ll never make me hate you, Bryce . . *runs away*

I asked Philadelphia Phillies All-Star Bryce Harper about Braves Ronald Acuńa Jr… “I want him back in this game because the game is a better place when he’s leading off for the Atlanta Braves”
English

@slc10ga @MaxFriedstash @BeaneaterB I don't disagree, but most of his time in the 9 spot, he was protected by the reigning MVP...
English

@MaxFriedstash @BeaneaterB I like Mike hitting 9th from a strategy standpoint. Also he has hit great in that spot in the past.

@CJNitkowski With the current rate of MLB arms going down, I'm not sure I trust the MLB to advise on this issue 🫤 (although, I do agree with your sentiment)
English

Baseball parents, you have to be your own advocate for your son's arm. Some coaches don't know or don't care. I was just alerted to this 13u game from earlier today.
This is criminal.

@CJNitkowski @Braves Awesome insight! I'd love to see the horizontal movement chart on his CH as well.

Good morning!
Let's get a little nerdy today with the @Braves Max Fried coming off a career high 13Ks last night in Boston.....
He is dominating RH hitters with all pitches but his 4FB and CH are jumping off the page, especially compared to 2023.
How has his CH become so dominant to RHH (.086 BAA)? It has a lot to do with his 4FB. His 4FB has never had that natural tail or fade away from RHH that you traditionally see from a LHP. He has cut to his and in 2024 more cut than at any other point in his career.
This graph above shows horizontal movement on his 4FB. For the first time in his career it is below zero, meaning it is cutting to his glove side (in to RHH) as opposed to staying truly straight or even moving away from a RHH.
No other LH starter in the game has as much glove side movement/cut on his 4FB than Max Fried (min 400 pitches).
Imagine you are a RHH and you're contending with 93-96 with cut in on your hands. That will make you "inside aware" on the pitch you see the most (31%) from Fried. No hitter likes to get sawed off, break a bat and have their hands stinging on a FB inside.
What this ultimately does is open the outside part of the plate to RHHs which has allowed Max Fried to dominate RHH this year more than ever (.144 BAA, .183 SLG) as we see a real improvement on the 4FB/CH combination to those righties from a year ago.
And we haven't even talked about his CB and SL.

@kristinbroadway You’d need wind speed & direction and ball spin & direction rate to be more accurate, but yes, I share your frustration!

@Super70sSports soft pack in the left chest pocket = Real Man

@Jared_Carrabis Has anyone ever been ejected by an umpire and then the ump(s) changed the decision?
There's almost always an "I didn't do anything" argument, but this takes it to another level.
English

@DanClarkSports VELO!
That is the problem. No one learns to pitch anymore, it's all about the velocity.
Throw 93-95 with movement and location. Pitch to contact. Throw 8 & 9 pitch innings. Too much stress and too much torque on these guys trying to throw 100 every pitch.
English

@CelliniNick It's the stacked look that does it for me. Like a family photo at Olan Mills!

@Super70sSports this and the Harlem Globetrotters on Scooby Doo, and you're week was complete!

@osbcardinals @osborne_fb @OfficialGHSA @rlosbornehs @OsbornePrincip1 @hssports929 @samcrenshaw23 Congratulations, but what about the 93/94 team that went 6-4 to make the playoffs and lost to McEachern 38-14.
Or the 94/95 season when they went 9-1 and lost in a mail biter to McEachern 20-14?
English

Tough double OT loss tonight… proud of the way our @osborne_fb fought! We clinched a @OfficialGHSA state playoff birth tonight! ..for the 1st time in @rlosbornehs 66 year history of playing football! #Grit @OsbornePrincip1 @hssports929 @samcrenshaw23 @ParkerResources
