I'm surprised you're missing why this is an example of why we invest in Tesla and why he's able to attract top talent. Elon, for all of his wisdom and engineering prowess, still makes mistakes. Much to the dismay of others, he's human! Your tweet tells me Elon was able to listen to reason and logic and approved of this two-pronged approach when the reality is he didn't have to. Yes, he's extremely outspoken but he's also humble enough to change course if he's presented with better options. While we won't be able to get a firsthand glimpse into how he operates behind closed doors, from what we've all read and heard he is approachable by those whom he respects. Thats got to count for something.

Our education and infrastructure quantity is falling, Social Security needs a serious revamp, safety nets are hamstrung, veteran care is insultingly bad, etc. How do we address this at our current rate?

The the point is we don’t need more taxes for the school system. We don’t need more taxes for anything. We already pay way more taxes than necessary for every possible public need. Adding more tax money to the school system is ridiculous. Just like adding more tax dollars to the defense budget, the transportation budget etc etc

It could all be so simple.

I simply pointed out how silly it is to bemoan a state government using tax dollars appropriately when our federal govt misplaces billions for defense

@Crash9178 @ninaturner Only about 2% of the federal budget goes to education in general, with only a fifth of that 2% going to primary schooling. If you're concerned about misappropriation let's talk about the nearly trillion dollars of defense spend (14%) that's chronically misappropriated

@Parzival571 @itsjust_kess It's for full-time drivers, scaled up to that $170k figure over a 5 year period so they won't have this immediately. Also includes the cost of all their benefits, roughly $60k in total. Full time hourly will be around $49/hr so they'll bring home roughly $100k.
