@DarrenWHaynes Agreed. The fact they also have a solid base of good young players means this doesn’t have to be a decade of darkness. The next two drafts could be what they need to turn the corner and be competitive again. Vancouver on the other hand is in big trouble even if they get McKenna.

@JordanFenwick22 Thanks, Jordan. Things are definitely trending in the right direction, but many chapters still to be written in the journey back to relevance. But this was the perfect time to do a full reset, as they’re winding down the Saddledome. This upcoming draft is going to be fascinating.

3. Rasmus Andersson's trade value is going up every game. He has been outstanding for the Flames since the start of November. He's been especially important when you consider the struggles of MacKenzie Weegar this season. 4. Morgan Frost is playing his best hockey as a Flame.

#Flames Post Game Thoughts 1. What a bounce back from Dustin Wolf. He goes from getting pulled in Tampa Bay to standing on his head tonight against the Wild. Good for him. 2. That was Connor Zary's best game of the season. The Flames need more performances like that from him.

@MatchsticksCGY Also a concussion is what derailed his season last year.

My only pause for concern with Cooley is that he also had a stellar start for the first few months in the AHL last year and then completely fell off a cliff. Different situation where he was used as a 1A there vs a pure backup in the NHL. I guess we’ll see what this year holds.
