So as we enter what looks to be the next leg up in the markets ahead of the Iran agreement, Strait opening, oil dropping and possible rate cuts end of year, the most common question I get asked when the markets are running hot is “when do you sell a stock?” Before I get into when I do sell a stock, let me be very clear about something: I do NOT sell just because the stock price has gone up. Whether it be +10%, +100%, or +1,000%, the price alone means nothing to me if I still believe in the business. Selling based on price appreciation is one of the fastest ways to cut yourself off from true long term compounding. I would never sell winners just because they’re winning. That is the whole reason I bought said stock in the first place. My job as an investor is to assess the business, not the chart.

So after thinking on it, I will be looking to open a position in these two today. Do i get in early at open or wait for a bit and see where they’re heading? Overall I will be holding these for a medium-long term.

I see so many people only buying ETF's. In no way am I saying that's wrong at all. Just a question for anybody who wants to answer. For me I like to hold individual stocks. What are some people reasons or thoughts behind only buying an ETF? Is it mainly a risk tolerance thing?

@outthered Just my take, if youre looking at $TSLA as a pure EV play it is overvalued. But with the Robotics and FSD which could potentially be licensed I dont think it is. Happy to hear opposing opinions.

Controversial but Musks trillionaire status doesn’t feel legit to me… $TSLA way overvalued, look at the graph… Now $SPCX is the same. Great companies, but way overhyped

Just signed a new PT client. 10 sessions £500. A few years ago I’d have probably spent it on a new pair of trainers, clothes, or something I didn’t really need. Today £300 is going straight into my portfolio. The goal isn’t to look wealthy. The goal is to become wealthy 🙌🏼

@SparkingFIRENC Its hard to stay away from confirmation bias. We all want to hear we are correct in our thinking. The smart decision is to hear opposite opinions and make your own conclusions. I guess that applies to everything in life really.

It is a bad idea to scroll on X looking for other 23 year olds that agree with your "thesis" while ignoring advice from people 20,30 or even 40 years ago who built what you want to build Like when you played sports growing up, be coachable

@JamieFinance25 I was with Nest. You can not do a partial transfer with them. Its transfer and closes the account. You can ask your employer if they mind you closing the account and them setting one up straight away. Then every year or so transfer and close the account again.

Who here has been auto enrolled into NEST pension? It's not a great option, but the only one I have available. Is it possible to transfer the bulk of this pot to a SIPP, keeping it open for continued contributions?

@FynnInvests So true. Ive learnt that lesson the hard way. "The man on youtube said so" Since then ive done my own. The time it takes is extensive but you have to question everything everybody says when it comes to your money. I wrote a DD into $RDW for @EnvestaApp it took about 12 weeks.

"Do your own research" is the most ignored advice in investing. Most people's research is reading one viral thread and buying the next morning. Real research is boring: Reading the actual reports, understanding the business, sitting on your hands. Most learn the difference the expensive way.

@KieranT1000 100%. Actually its not the fact you gain nothing. You actually loose, with inflation blah blah blah your buying power decreases.

What is a normal amount for a 23 year old to have saved up in the UK?? 🇬🇧 I can’t lie I’m more into putting my money into investments rather than just saving… Am I wrong for doing so? 🤔

Peter Beck for the last 3 years: "We built electron and neutron is way easier to make, a medium-sized rocket is cake once you have some small " 4 years later... my only bearish thesis, that's it space systems and selling low margin components isn't good enough.
