@KEYS917 That is a great point. If we are too concerned with not offending anyone, it becomes challenging to have a truthful response. I think that identifying an audience in posts might add context to comments that are made. #CUIN6320

A3: it can be a slippery slope when using social media, many opinions may cause difficult conversations that doesn't lead to growth and understanding. I know I tread very lightly when expressing my educational theories or beliefs . Starts to feel unauthentic. #CUIN6320

@Autie73155903 I think it's a great idea to keep posts professional; however, I think even the best intentioned messages can be taken out of context and be made into a negative message. #CUIN6320

#CUIN6320 A3 It is challenging to predict all of the various ways that a particular post/article/etc. can be interpreted. Even positive messages can always be taken out of context.

#CUIN6320 A1 Social Media can be used for education by initiating class discussions using platforms such as twitter/facebook. Social Media can also be a great way to spread awareness about program accomplishments such as newly published research, accomplishments, etc.

#CUIN6320 Q5: Skim through ISTE standards for Educators here. iste.org/standards/for-… After a quick self-evaluation, what standard do you think you are good at and are already practicing, and what standard do you think you can better yourself?

@ssranks @drbulentdogan I agree, Lifelong leaner! I think it’s easy to get caught up in the everyday routine - sticking to what works. I totally agree that we should always be on the lookout for professional development trainings.

@drbulentdogan #CUIN6320 A3: As a professional, it's our duty to do the research/legwork to stay up to date with the most recent and relevant technologies for our students. Another fantastic way to do this, is by attending professional development trainings that introduce us to these platforms!

@StephanieVarle6 That’s quite interesting! I’m sure doing a Bitmoji classroom was an interesting way to increase class interest. Does that mean the students all created Bitmojis for their class avatar?

A3 I haven't followed that many technology trends, but I did do a bitmoji classroom this year! It took a lot of research to get it up and running! #CUIN6320

#CUIN6320 A3: Educational technologies in the field of surgical education are constantly evolving. For example, the robot is being used more routinely in various surgeries. I keep up with this by signing up for any training sessions/opportunities offered.
