There is no selling point for Hellebuyck here. They’re going to try an 18-year-old at 2C. They’ve made no other meaningful additions. They’re forced to look to the youth they’ve never really trusted before. The future might have some light, but the present does not.

The deal with Buffalo has to happen by noon or it’s not happening at all. Players involved have no trade clauses that kick in at that time. If there’s nothing done by that point, I think it’s safe to say that. Hellebuyck starts and most likely finishes the season in Winnipeg.

Basically my take on Hellebuyck/BUF comes down to:
If WPG passed on #4, Norris, UPL - I believe Chevy overplayed his hand and it’s hard for me to imagine a better deal coming
If BUF passed on #4, Norris, UPL - Well; thems the breaks. That was WPG’s breaking spot
