@SportsterNews Mission accomplished. Now give him the title, let Rollins chase… or move him and Becky to Smackdown.

@ChandranTheMan Your top guy historically should be the guy every male wants to be, and the guy every girl wants to date. He looks like a homeless man. I been saying this for years. Yes he’s incredibly entertaining as a supporting actor, but he’s not the star of the show.
English

@ChandranTheMan I’ve always thought he was great as a mid card champion, maybe he could even own the record for most mid card title reigns, but he’s just not top guy material.
English

@AllDAYZ77 Or maybe it’s TKO. But sure, we can keep blaming HHH for everything.
English

@EliteClubS0B I know ppl gonna hate on me, but his character and his look is very limited, everything he does is going to fall flat.
He’s entertaining, and bought the Bloodline another year, but he’s not money. He’s great in the ring.
He’s just not the face of the franchise.
English

@J_Heezee @EliteClubS0B Face it… major titles are only changing at WM or SS.
English

@EliteClubS0B Not well. They need to have Bron and Heyman turn on him sooner than later. It’s also going to be insanely boring if Seth holds that title until WM. We need major title changes at ppvs other than WM or SS.
English

@reigns_era Honestly… I thought they were chanting we want Brock as well…
English

@NoDQ_Virtue Are you saying they are all too old?
I thought for sure most people were under the impression that top stars didn’t really emerge until 32-38.
If they stay on top for 7 or 8 years they are between 39 to 46, before they enter into their “put younger stars over” phase.
English

@Navtreaks He’s a face now.
That means he’s now significantly less interesting.
All faces are the same.
Although him taking a spear for his less talented cousin was surprising. It’s the first selfless thing he’s done since 2019 (storyline wise. I know he’s very selfless in the back)
English

@Xperience_Snr @TripleH Why do you want this? Roman as a face is boring. He was a legend as a heel, but as a face he’s gonna be boring, that and he only works four months out of the year.
English

@TripleH It will be a shame and a complete waste of time for the entire wwe fans worldwide if you don't give us our rematche. Is time for Roman to get back his championship.. Now is the time.
I don't care. Give us our long awaiting match.

English

@pwd_offl I know it’s unpopular, especially here… the IWC always wants nobodies from nowhere winning, just so they can complain about them in a month after they win, but I agree with you.
English

@ProWFinesse Nahhh… I don’t see Zayn as a world champion, he was a great bloodline initiate, but now he’s just a midcard guy
English

@TwoHeadsPodcast Look… I’m no fan of Tiffany as champion… and Jade has grown a little bit… but I don’t think losing a championship match to the champion considered “being buried.”
Now if she goes on a losing streak and then loses clean to Maxxine Dupri… she’s buried
English

@TwistedJohnX That’s because both Tiffany or Jade should not be the face of the Smackdown women’s division at this time.
A heel Tiffany could be a great US champion… but face Tiffany… she got pushed too fast for the Charlotte match. I would have liked them to slow build that whole thing.
English

the 5 minute match, only taking one moonsault to defeat jade, AND TIFFANY RETAINING? what is this mess
#SummerSlam

English

@cape_wrestles I don’t think she’s the right choice for the top of the card, but she’d be a fantastic US champion… not that Jade is there either… they’ve used Trish twice to sell her as a face, and failed both times
English

@revingev @archaeochron Thank you for this. This was very informative. Appreciate you.

Long answer but here it is:
He had a very significant role as one of the key founding figures and Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) of All Elite Wrestling. He was part of the core group that laid the groundwork and generated the initial buzz for the company.
Here's what he factually did to build AEW:
Co-Produced and Starred in "All In" (2018): This is perhaps the most crucial direct contribution. "All In" was an independent professional wrestling pay-per-view event, promoted by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson).
The "Bet": The idea for All In famously stemmed from a challenge made by wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, who stated that Ring of Honor (ROH) couldn't sell 10,000 tickets. Cody took this as a personal bet.
Massive Success: All In sold out its 10,000+ tickets in less than 30 minutes, marking the first non-WWE or WCW promoted wrestling event in the U.S. to do so since 1993. This success proved that there was a significant appetite for an alternative wrestling product, validating the idea that a new major promotion could succeed.
Paved the Way for AEW: The immense critical and financial success of All In directly demonstrated the viability and demand that led to the formation of AEW in January 2019.
Founding Member and Executive Vice President (EVP): When AEW was officially announced, Cody Rhodes was named one of the four initial Executive Vice Presidents, alongside Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Tony Khan was the financial backer and President.
Off-Screen Contributions: As an EVP, Cody was involved in various aspects of the company's early operations, including:
Talent Relations/Recruitment: He stated his primary job as EVP of Talent was to find and cultivate future stars. He was instrumental in bringing in new talent and helping to shape the initial roster.
Creative Input: While Tony Khan eventually took over primary creative control, Cody, as an EVP, had significant input into storylines, character development, and the overall creative direction of the company in its early stages.
Business Development: He was involved in strategic decisions for the nascent company.
On-Screen Presence and Star Power: Cody was a top star in AEW from day one. His name, lineage (son of Dusty Rhodes), and post-WWE indie success (where he largely rebuilt his brand) gave him credibility and draw. He participated in many of AEW's early, highly-praised matches and storylines, including his memorable unsanctioned match against his brother Dustin Rhodes at the inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
Key Figure in "The Elite" Storyline: Cody was a prominent member of "The Elite" faction, whose popular YouTube series "Being The Elite" and "The Road to Double or Nothing" chronicled their journey and built anticipation for All In and eventually AEW itself. This grassroots, direct-to-fan marketing was crucial in building a dedicated fanbase before AEW even launched.
"Unfinished Business" Narrative: His departure from WWE due to creative frustrations and his quest to prove himself outside of the corporate wrestling giant resonated deeply with fans. This narrative, often highlighted in his promos, directly fed into the "alternative" appeal of AEW. His "Undesirable to Undeniable" journey was a core tenet of AEW's early identity.
In essence, Cody Rhodes, along with The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega (collectively known as The Elite), were the creative visionaries and public faces who spearheaded the movement that demonstrated the demand for a new major wrestling promotion. Tony Khan provided the crucial financial backing, but The Elite, with Cody as a central figure, generated the initial momentum, proof of concept (All In), and much of the early fan excitement that built AEW from an idea into a reality.
He also Trained Wrestlers through The Nightmare Factory: Cody Rhodes, along with QT Marshall, co-founded and ran The Nightmare Factory wrestling school in Norcross, Georgia.

@ToxsickPunk I wouldn’t oppose you… I did too… I had low expectations… as I have for every Marvel movie since Love & Thunder and Eternals.
I enjoyed it, my only issue was Bucky as a senator. The rest made sense to me. It was solid. Not great or amazing, but solid.
English

@Navtreaks @FinnWrestling Your boy Jey was the one that said he didn’t care if he main evented.
The WHC does need to be elevated. The wrestler shouldn’t make the title, but it feels like in this case the wrestler does make the title.
My thought would be if it’s main eventing it means Seth is cashing in.
English

@FinnWrestling Nah bro the outrage is all about Roman main eventing. They just using the WHC needs to be elevated excuse.
When they weren’t saying shit when it didn’t main event mania or didn’t get featured on backlash lol
English

It seems like Gunther vs Punk is Main Eventing the show.
But the amount of people that I’ve never seen advocate for the WHC to be elevated, come out and bitch about this is insane.
DIDNT SEE YALL WHEN GUNTHER VS JEY DIDNT MAIN EVENT MANIA?
YALL WERENT THERE WHEN WHC WASNT FEATURED ON BACKLASH??
🤐🤐🤐🤐
