Need some input from other coaches out there. I honestly don’t recall anyone ever tearing an ACL when I was in HS (mid-2000s). Why are they so prevalent now? My two theories: No one rides bikes No one jumps on trampolines. Or could it be the playing surfaces?

3A Boys Basketball Score 🏀👀 Calvin Hiatt Invitational 🏆 FINAL (2A) No. 3 Enterprise 49, (3A) (C) Burns 39 In a battle of two strong Eastern Oregon squads, 14 points from Quentin Arellano paired with a steadfast defensive effort gets it done for the Outlaws ‼️ Jack Wright led all scorers with 18, but it wasn’t enough this afternoon. This Enterprise team is going to be real tough in 2A this season. @Easternoregons1 @PrepHoopsOR #opreps

In 2014, while I was with the Boston Red Sox organization, a very experienced coach taught me a powerful lesson. One day during Spring Training, a few very young minor-league players were making subtle excuses before they even stepped onto the field. One mentioned he hadn’t slept well. Another said that he doesn’t play well in the early morning. A third said he had just finished a workout and wasn’t going to perform well because he likes to lift weights after practice. This coach drew my attention to the micro-excuses players were making, explaining that they were using a “JIC”—a "Just In Case" reason for future poor performance. "It’s a subtle way players try to protect themselves", he said. Just in case they don’t play well, they’re already offering a reason why: poor sleep, the weather, the workout. It’s a form of self-sabotage—planting a seed that lowers expectations before their performance even begins. My wise friend explained that these “just in case” excuses quietly undermine an athlete’s ability to give their best. As coaches, we need to spot them, name them, and push back against them. He said that leaders should not let people pre-load reasons for failure by not allowing them to take their foot off the gas before the race even begins.

@JordanGush I coach a small school high school team with 35 players. All our games are on grass but this year, we had 3 non-contact ACL injuries. Maybe it was just bad luck but we highly suspect these new type of molded cleats might be partly to blame.

I have no idea about the accuracy of this reporting on Burrow. But WRs…..your cleats are the most important piece of equipment you have. So many injuries start at the 🦶 . It’s nothing to play with. Do deep research on your unique 🦶 and find what’s actually best for you. It’s unfortunate football is so far behind ⚽️ in this area. Football players would rather wear throwbacks/fashion statements than what’s truly best for them. Playing surfaces get a lot of the blame… 👀

You didn’t lose the game last night. You lost it 6 months ago when you skipped reps, coasted through sets, and blew off the details. Discipline in the mundane is what builds monsters.

forget the tush push... it seems like teams are blowing this 84% of QB sneaks on 4th & short CONVERT first downs yet only 23% of 4th & short plays are QB sneaks the answers are there w a basic QB sneak just use it as often as Philly let's dig in ➡️sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/nfl-t…

The Tush Push lives. Good. Now do it Week 10 @ Packers on MNF. Do it first play of the game. Do it 10x during the game. Then do it last play of the game, instead of a kneel down.

this is hilarious the move to ban the tush push started with Mark Murphy of GB he said it was too "automatic of a first down on plays a yard or less" NO MENTION of player safety so I went back and looked a GB the last 3 years on 4th & 1 they converted REGULAR QB SNEAKS on 4th & 1 on 80% of their tries! but they ranked #30 in 4th & 1 conversion rate at only 55% why was their overall rate so terrible? because Matt LaFleur called QB sneaks just 16% of the time and instead called a ton of RB runs or pass plays which were terrible if LaFleur called more regular QB sneaks, GB would have a more "automatic" first down like the Eagles btw, the Eagles 1st down conversion rate on tush pushes last year? 81% but now their play should be banned because Matt LaFleur won’t call his 80% QB sneaks and instead calls way too many terrible RB runs or QB passes on 4th & 1?
