After more time with @cursor_ai's composer 2.5, the SpaceXAI acquisition seems inevitable. The model is highly complimentary to Grok 4.3, and Cursor would give them a huge boost in Ent. exposure. $60B is probably a steal at this point. It's also a giant red flag for Anthropic. Any CTO/CIO paying attention should be forcing their dev team to default to Composer until further notice. I've found 2.5 to be indistinguishable on quality vs 5.5 High/ 4.7 Opus xHigh for most tasks. Using it in fast mode, it is faster, cheaper, and arguably better than those two (the non fast mode is 1/6 the cost and is laughably cheaper than anything out of Ant/oAI/GDM). And Grok 4.3 pricing makes for good value on non-coding, volume tasks. That Composer 2.5 is a post train on a Chinese OS model that is *vastly* lower in Composer's areas of strengths also calls into question how much durable valuable there really is in all the pre-training the frontier labs have done. Even when Opus 4.8/GPT5.6 come out, the price/performance ratio is so good Composer 2.5 usage ought to prove stickier than normal.
