@ArseneBalor @EGTVEgal 3 min added time in 1st half. 7 min added time in 2nd half. Therefore, Gyokeres was on the pitch for 45-33+3+45+7 = 67 minutes. 33*2 = 66. So he played more than twice the number of minutes. Look at our ability to retain possession pre/post the sub and wake up.

@JoshJohnstone9 @EGTVEgal Havertz had 33 minutes out of those 33 minutes he was none existent aside from the pass back to Eze you want to shit on Gyokeres but Havertz was legit not even involved apart from one pass . Gyokeres spent 23 minutes more than havertz and did all this

@ArseneBalor @EGTVEgal He played twice as many minutes. The stats you are showing are objectively pretty weak for both. If this is your point then you may need a reboot.

@EGTVEgal Did you watch the game ? Mf was pressing and fighting for the ball constantly and creating chances for the rest of the team he should be hunting through passes and shots at goal not doing our midfields job .

I cannot for the life of me understand why Odegaard hasn't looked to play Gyokeres in there rather than playing the ball inside.

@diehardgooner95 @afcstuff There have been good times. There have been plenty bad times too. You are fooling yourself if you can't acknowledge there have been good times.

@845Zimmer @afcstuff Yeah, he can't link up to save his life. Doesn't anticipate space and can't do anything with it when he does. If somehow, by some miracle, he does find some space to wind up, then he's reliable.

@JoshJohnstone9 @afcstuff Don’t think gyokeres has had a touch since he’s come on, we’re fucked if this Havertz injury is serious

My God, sack him now. Literally now. 5 minutes into the game, go to the dugout and sack this incompetent, talentless nobody. He is nothing more than a stain on the office of Chelsea manger.

@RohanJivanAFC He is undoubtedly our best CF. But he is not at the level we need. Odegaard overhits the pass, but he has to do better, the sitter of a header, he's criminally offside on the through ball from Eze (which he fluffed) and he loses out on that 1v1 with a 32 year old jockey.

Last thing I’ll say on Havertz for the time being. At the end of the day, it’s how you view it. You can view it from the lens that he cost us yesterday, missing big chances. Fine. And yes he’s regularly at the scene of the crime in front of goal. But at least he is in the position to impact proceedings, constantly. And all strikers miss chances. I’m not comparing the two, but Erling Haaland for example, regularly misses big chances. Just go and ask Citeh fans. He missed two yesterday! But his movement generates high volume. Kai also generates volume. Personally, I’m a little more forgiving with chances missed. That’s just me. I was the same with Gabriel Jesus because I place greater importance on how the team functions.

@RohanJivanAFC I agree completely. But that is as a CF. As a midfielder, he is terrible and has contributed to us being where we are now (since his comeback). I prefer him to the rest of our CF picks and like to see him selected. I also hate that it is where we find ourselves.

We can discuss our issues, etc etc, but one of my super annoyances has been that we’ve not had him available from the start. I’m adamant our lead would be bigger if he was leading the line, even with our issues. The team just plays better.

Ultimately the highlight reels will define Kai Havertz’ game today. And even though I disagree with it, that’s sadly how it is, since he should have scored at least one of them. But what I saw was a player who has clearly been trying to get back up to speed following an injury ridden year, since today was his first 90 of the season. And I saw a player who gave us a fighting chance by being a consistent out ball. Without him, we wouldn’t have even competed today.

@RohanJivanAFC I agree with you completely on a 'Havertz vs other Arsenal players' discussion, but if that is the best we can offer then we have a problem. We sadly do not have someone who can tick all/most of our boxes.

@RohanJivanAFC That front 3 of MMG cannot be experimented with again. I have never seen forwards so inept at retention. More frustrating than kicking the footy over the wall.

Rewatched the Sporting game last night. In short, it wasn’t a good watch. We massively need to raise our level on the ball if we are to obtain a result on Sunday, which is heavily contingent on the starting XI. A solid XI will assuage some of my fears. However, the major positive for me was that we at least saw some of the key aspects of our identity on show: defending aggressively from the front. The high press was excellent, we were compact in deeper areas and defended the box really well. Sporting lacking firepower is a noteworthy caveat, but I’m glad we got a lot of things right without the ball.

Arsenal were much better after the attacking substitutions, I thought. A bit of energy and freshness. A lot of these players really do look absolutely exhausted, though. Madueke injury is obviously a big worry ahead of Sunday.
