“With the monstrous weapons man already has, humanity is in danger of being trapped in this world by its moral adolescents. Our knowledge of science has clearly outstripped our capacity to control it. We have many men of science; too few men of God. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. Man is stumbling blindly through a spiritual darkness while toying with the precarious secrets of life and death. The world has achieved brilliance without wisdom, power without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living." -General Omar N. Bradley, 10 November, 1948

📸REDWOODS PHOTOGRAPHY BREAK📸 Seeing as Mrs. Dr. Publius is on a redwoods binge, this is one of my favorite shots from our many hikes in California's redwoods forests. This is from Wunderlich County Park, near Woodside, CA, just a few hundred meters from Neil Young's heavily guarded private estate. 😉 Olympus E-P1, Lumix 20mm, f/1.7, 1/60th, ISO 800, handheld.

🧵🚨 MAJOR BREAKING: International actors are involved in the State Department led color revolution 🚨🚨 This is not speculation; it’s straight from a recorded call. Ex-USAID employees describe how, before January 20, they moved internal groups off government systems and into encrypted Signal chats, then quickly linked with foreign partners and NGOs after the inauguration. This attempt at creating a color revolution isn't new news; this part was already reported in NOTUS earlier this year. But what's not reported is the international aspect. One participant explicitly frames it as "a global anti-authoritarian movement," connecting U.S. officials with "colleagues from around the world who have dealt with this directly." They reference coordination with Johns Hopkins, "international democracy and conflict mitigation spaces," and efforts to mobilize across borders against what they perceive as domestic authoritarianism. At what point does this become treason? As always, patience as I pull together this thread. 👇

The absolute stupidest comment on X is this: "TL;DR" If it's too long for you, then don't read it, right? Some people DO want to read longer posts. If you don't want to read a longer post, that's totally cool and I'm 100% in support of you scrolling past it. America is a free country, you are not obligated to read anything. But "TL;DR" just marks you as an obnoxious sphincter with ADD. "TL;DR" people are generally worthy of the Meat Puppet and a mute, FYI.

FCC bans foreign routers over rising US cybersecurity threats | Aamir Khollam, Interesting Engineering With foreign manufacturers dominating the market, U.S. regulators are tightening control over the devices connecting homes and networks. The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has moved to block the import of new foreign-made consumer routers, escalating Washington’s push to secure domestic networks from potential cyber threats. The decision targets devices that connect homes and businesses to the internet, a critical layer of modern infrastructure. Officials say the move follows a security review coordinated by the White House. That review flagged imported routers as a high-risk entry point for cyberattacks. The new order stops future imports but does not affect devices already in use across the country. Regulators say this approach avoids disruption for current users while tightening controls on future network equipment entering the U.S. market. Security risks highlighted The FCC says foreign-made routers pose a direct threat to U.S. systems. The agency warned that such devices could act as weak points in national infrastructure. It said imported routers present “a severe cybersecurity risk that could be leveraged to immediately and severely disrupt U.S. critical infrastructure.” Officials added that attackers have already used these vulnerabilities in real-world operations. They linked the concerns to major cyber campaigns, including Volt and Salt Typhoon. The agency said malicious actors had exploited security gaps in foreign-made routers “to attack households, disrupt networks, enable espionage, and facilitate intellectual property theft.” Experts have long warned that routers sit at the edge of every connected environment. That position makes them an attractive target for persistent access and large-scale disruption. China plays a major role in the U.S. router market. Estimates suggest Chinese-linked manufacturers supply at least 60% of consumer routers used in American homes. Lawmakers have raised concerns about this dependency for years. They argue that reliance on foreign hardware creates systemic risks and limits domestic control over critical digital infrastructure. Representative John Moolenaar welcomed the FCC’s decision. He framed it as a national security measure tied to broader geopolitical tensions. “Today’s tremendous decision by the FCC and the Trump administration protects our country against China’s relentless cyberattacks and makes it clear that these devices should be excluded from our critical infrastructure,” Moolenaar said, as quoted by Reuters. He added, “Routers are key to keeping us all connected and we cannot allow Chinese technology to be at the center of that.” Exemptions and legal battle The order includes a narrow exemption. The Pentagon can approve certain routers if it determines they do not pose unacceptable risks. At the same time, legal pressure is building against major manufacturers. Last month, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against TP-Link Systems. The lawsuit accuses the company of deceptive marketing practices. It also alleges that its devices allowed unauthorized access tied to Beijing. TP-Link rejected those claims and said it would “vigorously defend” its reputation. The company stated that the Chinese government has no ownership or control over its operations, products, or user data. The Chinese Embassy in Washington has not issued a response. The FCC’s decision signals a sharper turn in U.S. tech policy. It reflects growing concern over supply chain security, data integrity, and foreign influence in critical technologies. interestingengineering.com/culture/us-blo…

He arrested a man who posted a meme about him and the sheriff said the man was “trying to threaten and intimidate” with the meme 🤡 He then stated the 1st Amendment makes people “feel empowered, emboldened, and safe,” so he had to teach the public a lesson. Losing my brother and retiring from the law at the same time, while taking on new challenges, has left me in an overly emotive and philosophical mood, so please excuse what I am about to do, which some will label engagement farming. But I really am interested in hearing what people think about what I’m about to say. I helped my nephew put together a playlist of popular songs that defined his father---songs his father loved that defined him. What three popular songs would define you at your funeral? (Putting aside for this purpose faith-based hymns, which I think most people would pick.) Here are mine: 1. “Body of an American,” by The Pogues. 2. “American Soldier,” by Toby Keith. 3. “You Can Get It If You Really Want,” by Jimmy Cliff. How about you?
