Lucky to have worked with so many killer teams from @ethereum, @solana, @SuiNetwork, @AptosLabs, @celestia , @axelar, @LayerZero_Core , @eigencloud and beyond. 2025 will be the start of my 7th year working in staking and I’ve never been more bullish. I think the market is significantly underestimating the impact of the regulatory changes coming. Here are 10 predictions for the staking industry for 2025: - US ETH ETFs are approved for staking in the first half of 2025. Hong Kong ETFs will follow soon after. - SEC will issue broad guidance to staking service providers and platforms (i.e. exchanges offering staking) that staking does not constitute a securities offering. - LSTs will similarly get cleared as non-securities acting as a catalyst for mainstream adoption. - ETF/ETPs staking rates will increase to > 90%. ETF providers will utilize LSTs as the main way to process redemptions instead of using products like Validator NFTs which cannot match the fungibility and liquidity options that LSTs offer. - Solana ETFs will be approved with staking out of the gate. - LSTs will become the default staking option on most exchanges and custodians following regulatory clarity and given they provide strong benefits to users (no unbonding periods/ utilization as collateral). - @monad_xyz launch will be the biggest new PoS blockchain launch this year adding $20B of staked value and becoming a top 5 staked protocol. - Congress will pass digital asset legislation including treating staking rewards as created property and not taxable until sold cc @abesutherland and @TeamPOSA for the 5+ years of work on this issue. - SEC will drop or settle all staking based lawsuits against exchanges and wallets. - US Staked ETFs (SOL & ETH) will pass $75B of total AUM.
