Lickey Hills: Some footage of the cracking Melodious Warbler from this morning. Thrilled to hear that this is the first ever county record. @WorcsBirding

Wyre Forest, Worcestershire: male LSW, 10+ Pied Fly, 10+ Redstarts, Tree Pipits, Marsh Tit, Crossbill and Cuckoo this morning. Also my first Pearl-bordered Fritillaries I believe. Not a single Wood Warbler. Brook full of dogs. #WorcsBirds

@MidlandsBirder @WorcsWT @lesserspotnet Fantastic. Consensus seems to be under recording and perhaps not quite as sharp a decline as thought? (though very much still a significant decline). Less territorial / detectable? Still seems an issue of singles as opposed pairs.

A male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker at a site in central #Worcestershire this morning where the species has not been recorded in 10+ years. I seem to be repeating myself year on year, but they're out there to be found! @WorcsWT @lesserspotnet #WorcsBirds

First tweet in a while. Nice to find a pair of willow tit on a private site in Staffs, and catch up with tree sparrows (x2) at Bent Lane. Two species sadly presumed extinct in my home county, Worcs. Records submitted to @BirdTrack.

Bittell Res. Good to find 7 Curlew Sandpipers early afternoon. Flew north but 4 of them later relocated only to leave NW again at 3:30pm. Enjoyed Josh's 2 Rock Pipits late afternoon

@Saxicolaobs Looks great. I’ve also built a habitat pile that I’m always adding to, and the meadow has gone abit crazy!!

@JoshT01UK I've added extra habitat for them with log and rock piles. There's loads of nooks and crannies for them to hide and hibernate in, so that most likely will encourage ours to hang around.

We've had a new visitor to the pond. This time, it's an Azure Damselfly. One Large Red Damselfly was also flying around. The Pond Skaters have now had babies, and we're also seeing a few Water Boatmen about. Ponds really do bring in the wildlife!

@Saxicolaobs Likewise, love the look of your pond! I’d love to have so many frogs and tadpoles, my pond might not be quite big or deep enough for that, but one can hope!

@JoshT01UK Wow! What a transformation! It looks amazing! It's surprising how quickly the wildlife arrives. I'd love to have newts and toads. You're very lucky. I put around 20 plants into our pond. I was out there today watching 9 frogs and loads of insects coming and going.

The ‘Bromsgrove M5 Flash’ as I’m terming it is still providing good flood habitat in NE Worcs. Gull numbers down since my last visit, but managed to get in on the Med Gull action amongst 85 BHG. Also 26 Pied Wagtail. Will be interesting if we have a wet spring. @WorcsBirding

@JoshT01UK That field has always looked fantastic assuming it's the one viewable from M42/M5 Slipway. Never seen anything of interest though. Nice one!
